An old-fashioned donut is a cake donut prepared in a ring shape with tapered edges. Its surface is often cracked. It’s crispy on the exterior with a tender interior and a taste that isn’t very sweet. This is the inspiration for my coffee today. I’m drinking Donut Stop Coffee, the old-fashioned donut flavoured java. The sniff is bitter, but the sip is smooth. I can’t be more descriptive then that because my senses are preoccupied with the word cakey!
If we were having coffee, I would share that I’ve registered for an online proofreading course through Simon Fraser University. It starts at the end of the month. I haven’t taken a course in a while so I’m looking forward to it, plus proofreading is a good skill for me to learn about with all the reading and writing that is going on.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I was driving down the highway after picking my boys up from school when this loud crack echoed through my truck. Something had hit the front windshield and made a U shape in the glass the size of a baseball. There was a transport in the lane beside us, just ahead a bit so I assume that a stone flew up from under its tires and hit us. Windshields make me crazy. I’m going to have to replace it, but it won’t last long before we get another stone chip . . .
If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I posted my theme for this year’s A-to-Z blogging challenge. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you can find it: here. Preparation has been a bit of work, but I’m excited about these posts. Watch for this image in April, it’s my feature image for my A-to-Z posts.

If we were having coffee, I would share a picture of a lovely little dessert that my son and I shared the last time we went out for lunch together. It was a salted caramel cheesecake. I’m hoping to go to a new burger place with the family this week, no dessert, but I’ve heard that the fries are phenomenal.

What’s your weekend look like?

It is scary when something hits the windshield like that. It’s also a pain in the behind to have to replace it.
A proofreading class sounds like a great idea.
I hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead 🙂

We also don’t get glass coverage in Alberta because stones cracking windshields is such a big occurrence so it comes out of pocket to fix.
Thanks for stopping in, Trent. Have a great Sunday.

How scary when something like that happens as we are driving. I am glad you were OK. I admit, the combo of donuts and coffee are faves of mine! Denyse.

It is scary. A few years back, I was driving along the same stretch of highway and the back windshield got shot out by a pellet gun. I thankfully had no children in the back seat that day because the glass was everywhere! That was terrifying. There were other vehicles and house windows in the area that got shot at as well. Fingers are crossed that doesn’t happen again.
Thanks for stopping in, Denyse.

Good on your for tackling the AtoZ challenge. I did a few several years ago, but they are so time intensive! It’s a great way to meet other bloggers and to boost your page views.

I was sad your comments were already closed on your theme reveal, so I’m adding one here. Hope you don’t mind. I think it’s great you’re doing book reviews. They are lifeblood to an author. I’m sharing mine, too. I bet we’ve none in common!
