Crave Coffee

My coffee today is flirting with a bitter-sweet smell. The sharpest notes are bitter with hints of cooked syrup underneath. The taste is smooth. Because the coffee is hot as it flows over my taste buds my brain thinks warm, creamy, and caramel. If that is actually the case or just a trick of the brain, I don’t know.

Brand: Crave Coffee
Flavour: Caramel

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I’m enjoying the introductory editing course and I enjoyed the proofreading course. I’m enjoying it so much that I’m wondering about just registering to obtain my editing certificate—still considering.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I’m still working on my cabinet refinishing. With the air quality being so poor (Monday there was ash floating in the air), I haven’t been able to work on it the last couple of weeks. I had finished the bottom half of it. I whitewashed it, put on new hinges and new handles, and I lined the shelves with a fun newsprint shelf liner. Picture to follow once I am able to work on and finish the top half. You can see some of the materials here: check it out.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I started a new indoor workout routine. It’s Mark Lauren’s 90-Day Challenge. I think it is going to be a nice change to my routine and present some new fitness challenges.

If we were having coffee, I would end with my exciting writing news. On Tuesday, I decided to check the Amazon.ca status of Chimera and Curses. It was sitting in the #1 Best Seller spot for the “Fairies & Elves” category. It hung out there for a few hours and then moved to number two. I’m pretty happy about it.

    1. Hi Stu, I popped over to your blogging looking for an email but didn’t see one so I will leave the information here. I can’t recall where in the world you are, but since it’s an online course I suppose that doesn’t matter. It is Canadian. It’s through Simon Fraser University. This is the link to the Editing Certificate program, but if you scroll down to the program section all the courses are listed there so you can pick and choose what you might be interested in: https://www.sfu.ca/continuing-studies/programs/editing-certificate.html

I’m doing okay. It’s been a smoky week, but there is rain in the forecast. Hope things are good with you.

      1. Hi
Thanks for the info. I’ll check it out and see if I can afford it.

My email should be on the side of the blog or a way to send me an email. I’ll have to check since I set it up long ago & wordpress has mucked things around.

I live an inch away from New York City (north) in the lower Hudson Valley of NY. Eastern Standard Time (it’s 10:37 am now; I’m pretty sure you’re two hours earlier zone-wise).

  2. Hi Shari – well done on the Amazon rating – that’s amazing! I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of your cabinet when it’s all finished (hopefully without any ash embedded in the paintwork!)

    1. I find with my fitness that it’s hard to find things that don’t aggravate my hip. This new routine is low impact which is what I need nowadays. Thanks for stopping in, Jennifer.

    1. Thank you, Susan. And yes, I will share pictures when I get the cabinet finished. However, with these fires and poor air quality it is definitely going to be longer then I expected. Happy Saturday.

  5. Congrats on hitting that number one spot! The whole thing about the fires is awful – I hope all risks are now in the past, though also hope you get some relief soon, not just for your project, but for your lungs…
Hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead!

    1. Thanks, Trent. Unfortunately, without rain, I don’t know how the fires are going to be stopped. The wind shifted last night and it was so smokey that we could smell it in the house with everything closed up. I’m feeling a bit antsy; unlike the COVID lockdowns, with this poor air quality, I can’t even get out for a walk. There’s rain in the forecast, so now it’s a waiting game to see if they actually come.

Happy Saturday. I’m heading over to your blog to see if you shared anything outdoors that I can live vicariously through . . .

    1. It was a nice surprise that I will smile about for a long time. As for the exercise routine, I agree, it is refreshing to start something new. Exercise routines can get stale fast.

      Thanks for stopping in.
