Hot and full of caffeine

A coffee called Toffee Crunch makes me think of a caramel colour, a sugary smell, and a chewy sweet taste that goes on and on. However, the coffee in front of me is none of those things. The smell is bitter and burnt and I am struggling to find anything defining about the taste. It’s hot and full of caffeine though, so I’m not complaining. How’s your coffee?

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that the family and I played soccer and baseball this week on the decent weather days. On the rainy days there were a few games of Othello and Ticket-to-Ride. I started a 1000-piece map puzzle, but I have accomplished much beyond the border pieces.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you the news that makes me want to do a happy dance. Check out the announcement: here. Now I am working on the cover and the blurb. More to come on all that later…

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I am doing an ARC read for Canadian Indie author, Krista Walsh. I did an ARC read a few months ago on the first novel in her series Obscure. I really enjoyed it. So, I am lucky enough to get to do it again with book 2 Oblivious. I will post a review of it on Goodreads as soon as I finish reading. Other Indie author news. I was speaking to the Canadian author of Willow Awakened, Ascended, Avenged, Don Bourque, about doing a guest post here at Brewing Coffee, Twisting Words & Breaking Pencils. He has agreed. We haven’t got further with the details, so I will keep you posted.

That about covers my news for the week: family, coffee, writing, and reading! If we were having coffee, it would be time for me to pass you the coffee pot.

  1. Congrats on completing book 2 rough draft! That’s awesome and I’m sure rewarding too! I know there are a lot of moving parts to writing novels but every step to completion is worth celebrating. Thanks for the coffee today, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 💞

  2. Congrats on the completed manuscript! I have an ARC read sitting on my file cabinet awaiting my attention. Hope to start it in a week or so. It’s great to be able to help out other authors.

    1. I’m in the middle of an ARC read as well. This is my second time reading an ARC, I hadn’t know it was a thing, but I agree that its great to help out other authors. Thanks for stopping in Janet. Have a great week.
