Lacking sugar, whip cream, and Irish whisky

I have a Van Houtte Irish Cream and an Our Finest Irish Medley on my Keurig spinner. I decided to compare them this morning because I was curious to see what was similar and what was different. The Irish Medley’s bouquet is strong, filling the kitchen with the welcome notes of roasted coffee beans. My… Continue reading Lacking sugar, whip cream, and Irish whisky

A Cookie Jar Coffee

The bouquet of my morning java is soft and sweet making me anticipate a weak sip. This coffee is not weak though, it’s a lovely degree of bitterness. It travel across the tongue smoothly and it’s the after taste that is weak, but still welcome. I would enjoy this cup of coffee again, but I… Continue reading A Cookie Jar Coffee

What’s a razzleberry?

Without a doubt, no thought required, my coffee has the perfume of a raspberry. Curious, I peek into my mug. The liquid inside is a merlot colour with an oil sheen on the top. My taste buds scream bitter raspberry as my java slides over my tongue and down my throat. Even the aftertaste is… Continue reading What’s a razzleberry?

Another Slice

Happy Easter Weekend! A sweet fruity smelling coffee fills my mug this morning. It tastes bitter and earthy; it isn’t a complex flavour. It crosses my palate and has no aftertaste. Today I’m drinking Slice Pie Flavoured Coffee brand, blackberry pie flavour. If we were having coffee, I would share with you that my proofreading… Continue reading Another Slice

Pies and Donuts

I’m on a pie and donut coffee flavour stretch and today is no different. The brand of my java is Bean around the World. The flavour is . . . The smell of cinnamon battles a sweet fruity or perhaps it’s a floral smell. It not overwhelming. The combination creates an appley bouquet. I move… Continue reading Pies and Donuts

I love peanut butter, but can it be coffee?

The Keurig bubbles and the flow of liquid follows. Within seconds an oily sweet-earthy bouquet fills the air instantly calling to mind peanut butter. A closer smell reveals bitter undernotes of coffee. This java tastes like burnt nuts. It leaves an oily smooth feel in the mouth. I’m enjoying another Cookie Jar Coffee today. It’s… Continue reading I love peanut butter, but can it be coffee?

Sweet is at war with bitter

My coffee brand this morning is Cookie Jar Coffee. The flavour takes its lead from the salted caramel cookie. The cookie is chewy, but I know that won’t be part of my coffee experience today because I lack cookies. The coffee is a deep darkness in my mug. Sweet vanilla-caramel smell wars with the fragrance… Continue reading Sweet is at war with bitter

Donut Stop Coffee

An old-fashioned donut is a cake donut prepared in a ring shape with tapered edges. Its surface is often cracked. It’s crispy on the exterior with a tender interior and a taste that isn’t very sweet. This is the inspiration for my coffee today. I’m drinking Donut Stop Coffee, the old-fashioned donut flavoured java. The… Continue reading Donut Stop Coffee

Who doesn’t love maple syrup?

This is a new coffee for me. It’s called, “Bean Around the World, Canada, Maple Syrup flavoured coffee.” There’s a caramelized smell of sugar rising in the hot steam from my mug. It’s sweet and delicious. It has a buttery mellow taste of cooked sugar with a roasted flavour. Can I offer you a cup?… Continue reading Who doesn’t love maple syrup?

The full story. You better grab a coffee . . .

If we were having coffee, I would start by sharing the full story of Bramble that began when we had our first coffee in January 2023. Are you familiar with that deep-seated feeling of tiredness? The kind of tiredness that weighs down all your limbs and clings to your thoughts like sleepy spiderwebs? Maybe you’re… Continue reading The full story. You better grab a coffee . . .
