Coffee Blog

I love peanut butter, but can it be coffee?

The Keurig bubbles and the flow of liquid follows. Within seconds an oily sweet-earthy bouquet fills the air instantly calling to mind peanut butter. A closer smell reveals bitter undernotes of coffee. This java tastes like burnt nuts. It leaves an oily smooth feel in the mouth. I’m enjoying another Cookie Jar Coffee today. It’s called Peanut Butter Cookie. Now if I only had a soft warm cookie to go with it . . .

If we were having coffee, I would share a couple pictures of my silly dog Maddi. She loves to lay in the sunlight so much so that we have to keep the benches at our dinner table pushed in or she climbs up because the tabletop gets the best afternoon sunlight. Anyway, with these pictures, she was enjoying the sun, but from the safety of the floor.

If we were having coffee, I would share that the A-to-Z blog challenge starts next weekend. I’m geared up and ready to go. Are you participating this year?

If we were having coffee, I would share an author update with you. The Ember Files just released a soft cover journal. It is 200-lines pages and it’s 7 by 10. You can view it: here.

Here is the virtual coffee pot. What’s new with you?

  1. Cute photos of your sweet dog!
Oh, when I saw your title I thought you’d talk about how now peanut butter is classified as a liquid, according to the transportation rules on airplanes. So strange! 🙂

  2. Maddi seems to be a Boxer. If so, I understand completely – there is no saying “no” to a Boxer, they will find a way. lol. As you can guess, I’ve had three Boxers over the years – the best dogs. (Current dogs – Fiyero is a Boxer, Idinia was called a “Boxer mix” by the rescue, but is more American Bulldog, and perhaps Pit Bull).
    Have a great weekend!

  3. Maddi is so adorable!! That kind of face that immediately makes my brain consider how I perhaps could cut back work hours to be able to get a dog again ❤

  4. Your dog is adorable!

I’m not doing the A-Z blog challenge this year. I’d like to, but I need to focus on revising my second novel, and that project is going to take a lot of time and effort. Looking forward to reading your posts!

    1. Thanks, Janet. I get it about the revisions. I just finished a round of edits on the revised edition of The Ember Stone and it was time consuming. It would have thrown a kink into my A-to-Z plans if I didn’t get them done earlier this week.

    1. I probably eat peanut butter every day. Have you tried peanut butter and apples?

When we picked her as a puppy it was from a picture of her. Her little face drew us right in, and fooled us completely. Haha, she was a rascal of a puppy.

  5. Nope, can’t so peanut anything in coffee. I’m a purist when it comes to coffee. Cute dog. Congrats on all of you accomplishments with your books. I have to skip AtoZ this year, between a wedding to pull and a book launch, I am over extended.

    1. Peanut butter wasn’t always my thing and I’m not sure what changed. I like my coffee black typically. A wedding and book launch would definitely be a time commitment that wouldn’t lend well to the A-to-Z. When does your new book come out, Antoinette?

  6. I’m not much of a fan of flavored coffee. I’ve tried & wanted to be. Like you mentioned having the taste of burnt nuts. I would want a strong peanut butter taste, maybe like eating a nutter butter cookie. I’ve tried the chocolate coffee & it just don’t work for my taste buds much. I want to be drinking a Hersey bar taste. I laughed reading about your Maddi getting on the table. My little Rose is a sun seeker too. I’ve found her sunning on the placemats on the dining table a couple times. I pulled the shade down to keep her from wanting to sun up there. Of course, we don’t allow our pets on the table. Rose looks at me as if asking “why not?”. #Weekendcoffeeshare

    1. There is definitely a mind shift required between eating a peanut butter cookie versus drinking a peanut butter-flavoured coffee, as much as we might want them to be the same they are.

Pets are such fun. They keep us entertained. Thanks for stopping in, Karen.

  7. I love peanut butter too … but flavoured brew? I haven’t had much luck with flavoured teas (I can’t drink coffee) …

    Maddi is sooooo adorable!

Thanks for the cuppa – good week ahead!

    1. Do you like cinnamon? I’m not sure if you have access to David’s Tea where you live, but if you do and if you like cinnamon, I recommend their cinnamon rooibos chai (herbal).
