No more haunting

This year I am writing a novel.

Some of you may recall me sharing a few posts ago that I am unhappy with my chapter one and that at some point I need to go back and do a hardcore edit or re-write it completely. The problem has been that I haven’t been sure of what to do with it and so I continue to write on with that small thorn in my side. Well, for some reason as I began it start writing chapter nineteen, the end just a few more chapters away, it came to me. I now had a clear vision of what my chapter one needed to become.

So, I put chapter nineteen on hold and returned to the beginning. I didn’t have to scrap the entire chapter but there were sections that were erased. I moved some sections around and I completely wrote other sections. Now I have a chapter one that I believe fits better with the over all tone and storyline. It needs editing still and I still some uncertainty with it but I am happy to have made progress with it and happy that it isn’t haunting me as I move into writing chapter nineteen.

  1. That’s great you got to a point where you could go back and rewrite most of what you didn’t like. It sounds like things are coming together for you! YAY! 🤩
