Would you like a virtual cup of coffee?

If we were having coffee the smell of cinnamon would be pungent. It is a sweet, spicy and woodsy odour. The rich black liquid is so hot that only tiny sips breach waiting lips. As it slips over the taste buds they explode with the strong warm spice taste. The cinnamon is so strong I am surprised the coffee isn’t gritty with the shavings from the dried rolled bark. The cinnamon is blazing through this hot cup of coffee.
If we were having coffee I would ask if any of you hang cinnamon stick on your Christmas tree? Although I think it is a lovely scent all the time, I think it is a spice that speaks of the Christmas season: cookies, wine, lattes and so much more. I have an old cinnamon stick on my tree that is painted to look like Santa. It doesn’t have any smell anymore but my grandmother gave me years ago for the tree and it is sentimental.
If we were having coffee I would share my Christmas puzzle with you.

If we were having coffee I would share with you that the elf, Jingles Marshmallow, has continued to create mischief in our house this last week.
If we were having coffee I would thank you for all the advice last during last week’s coffee in regards to upgrading to a paid plan. I think next year I am going to give it a try and see how it goes.
If we were having coffee it would be time for me to pass you the coffee pot and sit back and listen to the wonders of your week.

Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Eclectic Alli. I hope you have a chance to join us for a virtual cup: here.

Cinnamon is definitely christmassy. I use it in the kitchen more around Christmas time. This weekend it is saffron that is taking over the kitchen, as a part of celebrating Lucia. Thank you for the coffee!

I haven’t worked with saffron. Earthy, grasssy and sweet are the descriptive terms that I found when I looked it up. Would you say it is an accurate description?

As that guy who earned part of his way through college baking the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever tasted – I can certify that there are few things that smell as good a this very spice, especially mixed with some brown sugar, butter, sweetened and condensed mile and, nuts, my mouth is watering now at the memory of those rolls. They made the whole shop smell amazing each and every day. That had to be one of the best jobs I ever had. . .

It is funny that you should mention cinnamon rolls because just yesterday morning the Scout Elf, Jingles Marshmallow, left us cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The boys first experience of them. They were a truly delicious treat!

My daughter and I have a short running list of food that will be in heaven. Along with pizza and ice cream and mom’s hummus and my carrot-corn pancakes are cinnamon rolls. I mean how could heaven be heaven be heaven without these treats ? ? ?

Love your elf’s name and doing Christmas puzzles.

Thank you. The elf name was a combination effort that ended in a deadlock for Jingles and Marshmallow as its own individual name. I think the boys did a good job deciding to fit it together! Thanks for stopping in for a virtual cup of coffee.

I love your elf pics… really made our day (hubby’s looking over my shoulder and chuckling). I love the smell of cinnamon. This year, on a whim, I bought one of those cinnamon broom back in October… it’s still smelling up the house. LOL! I used to suck on cinnamon bark rolls all winter long, dunking them in my coffee or tea. Most of all, I chewed them. Everyone thought I was nutz, but I am so why argue. Anyway, haven’t found any yet this year and that sucks (pun intended.). hehe. Make sure to share some egg nog with that elf… he looks a little parched. LOL! Oh, and I’m also considering upgrading to a paid plan in the new year. Just waiting for a new budget when we start having a water bill added in January.

I like putting the cinnamon bark in my water and the boys love it when I do it for their school water bottles.
Fingers crossed that upgrading to new plans next month goes smoothly for us both!
