I can’t take my coffee outside at almost minus 50 I am sure it will freeze in the mug that holds it. Instead I stand looking out the glass at the dark sky. The air is filled by icy droplets that make a chilling early morning fog. Amazingly there is a very fine soft snow falling through the impossibly cold air. I blow softly into my hot coffee and sigh as the scent of hot coffee tickles my sense of smell and then I lift my mug in a “here’s to January” gesture.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that this week has been ridiculously cold. School buses were canceled the first three days of the week. I was shocked when they ran Thursday because it was the coldest day of the week. Regardless, the boys reported having 3 and 4 kids only in their classes. So, cold. Pass the hot coffee please…
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I excited because we have our first house showing this weekend. I my eager to hear that first bit of feedback on how the house presents. Other then that I don’t think we will be up to much this weekend because this cold snap has yet to break. Which reminds me of this post a saw on Facebook. It was an image of what I assume is God relaxing and watching television. There is fridge freezer behind him. A man by the fridge asks “what is in the freezer?” And God says “Canada.” Wow, does being in the freezer capture the temperature of this week.
There were a couple great posts in response to my photo prompts: Don’t Ask Alice and The Skull. If you get a chance I highly recommend giving them a read. Big thanks to Trent at Trent’s World (the Blog) for participating!
Here was this week’s photo prompt:
Anyway, I need to do some last minute tidying. Have a great weekend and to anybody also in the cold, stay warm!

Brrrrr. It was cold here the last couple of days, and after a warm Sunday will be even colder, but we are balmy compared to there! Hope you have a good week ahead: stay warm!

Holy Moly Shari. I’ll bet almost everything stops at -50. That’s colder than any freezer I know of and is much colder than anything I’ve experienced. Stay safe. Thanks for the visit and glimpse of what real cold is like.

Thanks for the hot coffee! We are not doing particularly well in the weather category here in eastern North Dakota, either. Keep warm!
