The world around me is spinning, moving, and busy. Today, for the next few minutes, I’m going to shut it down and enjoy a few minutes just for me. I smile to myself as I slid into the tiny booth built for just two dinners. I order green tea as I slip a book out of my bag. The bustle around me is now a steady hum of white noise. A small order of fresh sushi is set on the table in front of me.
I eat slowly.
I sip periodically.
I read continuously.
Thankful for a few moments carved out of life just for me. Blessed be!
A restaurant date with myself is something that I started last year. It gives me a few minutes to focus on me and to get out at the same time. I try to do it as often as possible, I would like to say monthly but that hasn’t happened, and occasionally it happens with a friend. Do you have any activities that you do just for you?
