Focal Point
The shelves were turned to form an octagon shaped space. It was compact and filled with organized clutter. There were four exit points between shelves and I stood at one. Under my feet the carpet showed extensive wear. The other three exits were blocked by stacked books and dusty cobwebs. The space was setup to focus on the desk, so where was its occupant? The chair sat empty, but it was still warm as if recently vacated. Even the mug of coffee continued to release swirls of steam into the air, but somebody had simply vanished like the morning mist.

Love the descriptive wording. It really takes you right into the story. I want to know what happened and happens.

I had a hard time limiting to 100 words a number of times, there was so much more there to be written.

Aww…the coffee drinker didn’t get to finish their cup. From my Dragon’s Eye View this is a sad tale indeed!
