If we were having coffee, I would share my cover reveal. This is my first middle-grade novel. I was having a lot of young readers come talk to me at author events—some fabulous conversations—but I had no book to offer them. So, I decided I needed to remedy that.

Some towns have secrets. The Dumps has myths that breathe.
Welcome to the twenty-eighth book review of fifty-three. As you know, I used to provide freelance book reviews to several review companies. It was a great experience that introduced me to new authors and their wonderful books. Each week this year, I’m opening my Weekend Coffee shares with a link to a review I’ve provided. Reviews are three stars or higher. The genres range from picture books to fiction and nonfiction titles.

Review as I posted it on Goodreads (To read more of my reviews, you can find me on Goodreads at Shari_Marshall):
Reiki for Dogs by Kathleen Prasad is an informative text.
Reiki for Dogs is about using Reiki energy for the highest good of the animal and practitioner. The book highlights the give-and-take of that interaction, the importance of a flexible and trusting relationship, and the need to build an adaptable, safe environment for your dog and the animals you treat.
This text is easy to read and understand. The material is organized in a logical flow; Kathleen has broken the book into four parts consisting of nineteen chapters. Reiki for Dogs is an insightful text for people new to energy healing. It offers tips for getting started, examples, case studies, and exercises. Some of the case studies are emotional because Reiki energy is for the highest good, which sometimes means helping an animal transition to the afterlife. However, those stories that tug at the heart are filled with positivity for the animal involved.
Kathleen Prasad’s Reiki for Dogs is an insightful text.
If we were having coffee, I would remind you that Natalie is on a blog break this week, so there is no Weekend Coffee Share linkup. If you’d like to leave your link in the comments below, I will try to return your visit.

Congrats on your new book! I’ve been contemplating writing a children’s book at some point. For a younger audience than yours.
