Coffee Blog

Book talk and a bit about me.

Welcome to the twentieth book review of fifty-three. As you know, I used to provide freelance book reviews to several review companies. It was a great experience that introduced me to new authors and their wonderful books. Each week this year, I’m opening my Weekend Coffee shares with a link to a review I’ve provided. Reviews are three stars or higher. The genres range from picture books to fiction and nonfiction titles.

If we were having coffee, I would share that Mother’s Day was a wonderful day. My family gifted me a book and an oracle deck: Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing by Matthew Perry and Everyday Witch’s Familiar Oracle by Deborah Blake. For dinner, we all went to a restaurant called Chillangos. It serves Mexican food, so delicious. I had chorizo tacos.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I’m registered to take Reiki Level 2 in June. That will make me a practitioner. I’m really enjoying learning about energy work.

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you are a reader who enjoys seeing maps included in the book you’re reading. I love maps. So, I decided that I’m going to include one in the middle-grade fantasy I just finished writing. I am familiarizing myself with the program Inkarnate. Have you used it or heard of it?
