If black licorice isn’t a taste for you, you will want a rain check today.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you the last flavour of tea currently in my cupboard. This tea is called Throat Rescue, curtesy of David’s Tea. It is an herbal infusion of licorice, fennel, nana mint, anise, ginger, peppermint, nettle leaves, black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, marigold, and cornflower blossoms. With those ingredients, you can imagine that the loose leaf is pretty to look at with pops of yellow, blue, orange and green mixed with the muted tans and browns. The perfume is strong but not unpleasant. The dominant taste of this tea is black licorice.

If we were having coffee tea, I would share with you I ordered a new tea to try. Have you tried dandelion tea? I haven’t, but I am curious about. Stay tuned. I will let you know how it tastes.

If we were having coffee tea, I would share with you that the school year has ended. The boys both have glorious year end report cards and have been “promoted” into grades four and seven. Four and seven! Where does the time go?

If we were having coffee tea, I would share with you we have a bit of summer camping planned, as well as a new baby niece to meet in a few weeks, maybe a round of mini put with Grandpa, some trips to the ice-cream barn, and maybe a movie theatre date. I am sure there will be soccer, baseball, basketball and croquet. For me, there will be a bit of reading and writing, too.

If we were having coffee tea, I would ask you if you have any summer plans yet?

  1. I’m sorry, and thanks, but with licorice and fennel I will continue to sip on my own coffee 😉 Most of it sounds good, but I don’t do well with fennel and can skip licorice.
With summer break started sounds like you have seasons worth of activity in store. Have funw ith the camping!
I hope you are having a great weekend!

  2. Hi Shari,
Sounds like you all finished June in fine form. Here we’re a bit dazzed. Our daughter has been trying to get accepted into med school and about 2 weeks ago she got the invitation to join the one school that interviewed her. Great news except it is really short notice and now our summer vacation plans are all but scrubbed so we can drive her across mist of the country to move her in time to be ready to start learning how to doctor the first week of August. It’s going to be nuts pulling this off.

    1. Oh, my goodness. That’s wonderful, but frantic. Congrats to your daughter. It is going to be a great adventure. Hope things go smoothly. Thanks for stopping in, Gary.

  3. No major summer plans. I hoping to get the shade structure set up in my yard! Licorice tea sounds interesting! I love the smell of licorice tea.
