Food pieces secured on a thin wooden stick. Skewered.
Perhaps it is a variety of fresh fruits: strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, and grapes. Bright colours and bright flavours for a dessert or a treat.
Maybe it is a dish, a meal, roasted or grilled on a skewer or spit. Some kind of meat or fish cut into small chunks and flanked on either side by vegetables. Common veggie choices range from zucchini, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tiny potatoes…
Dress it up with spices and sauces, marinades. Combinations of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, hot pepper flakes, and paprika…

Two years ago I bought skewers to make kebab and never used them. I actually forgot about them until your post. I think I need to find them and use them this year. Thanks for the reminder : )

I was surprised how much work they actually are to put together. Worth it, though.
Thanks for stopping in Cheryl.

My family prefers the meal grilled on a stick, but picks at the same ingredients grilled in mass. It’s all in presentation

Well you caught me there. I was expecting what you apparently call a gyros (or diner kebab). I call the ones you have here shish kebabs. National differences revealed by Wikipedia.
