Writing Sparkle

This year at Brewing Coffee, Twisting Words & Breaking Pencils my theme is “this year I am writing a novel.” So, in light of that I decided to try and keep to the theme a bit with my A to Z topic. I decided on using writing words that start with each letter of the alphabet to create short posts.

E – Erase

The power of a writer comes in many forms. There is the ability to rub out of delete words, sentences and paragraphs for that first round, or any round, of blue-penciling. Just as easily a writer can remove all traces of a character: thoughts, feelings and memories obliterated. The Writer – The Eraser.

  1. For some reason this reminds me of a cartoon – a pencil, sharpened end up, is sharing a table with another pencil, eraser end up. The lead-end-up pencil is saying to its cell phone, “I’m sorry, I can’t talk right now, I am meeting with my editor.”

  2. Nice! This reminds me of something I posted in my Book Club group the other day. It said, “What if we were all characters in a book? What if when you forget what you were going to say, it’s the author backspacing?” I’m really enjoying your daily challenge.
