Weekend Coffee Share

Hello coffee friends, I hope everyone had a decent week.

Let’s see what I can I share about my week? Hmm, can’t say there is really much to report. Our swimming pool got shut down so no swim lessons until further notice. They shut down because of the recommendation that no events over 250 people be held until the coronavirus is under control. A couple days later schools and daycares closed. So, this was our first week with the children at home and it didn’t take long for them to start feeling a bit wild. I could go on a bit more with details but let’s not spend our coffee time dwelling it.

I got myself a new puzzle (el rompecabezas) and just finished my first one. I haven’t been able to sit and enjoy the new one yet. My new puzzle is Alice in Wonderland. I am sure that any of you who have popped in for coffee now and then already know that I love Alice in Wonderland. I will share a picture once I get that puzzle up and running.

Friday night movie night this week was “The Big Green.” Have you seen it?

This week’s Spanish word of the week is exercise.

  • ejercicio

Yo debo ejercicio mañana. I should exercise tomorrow.

One big thing that is just around the corner is A to Z. Now, I realize that we haven’t started yet but I have to admit that I feel a bit nervous about my success rate this year. Fingers crossed that I am able to pull off the full A to Z commitment. Also with the wildness of this week I actually didn’t post a theme reveal. However, I did mention a few coffee dates ago that I am going to do photo prompts for A to Z this year. It just fit with what I am already doing so I thought, why not? Have you started prepping for A to Z 2020?

Well, I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for the coffee break.

  1. I don’t do much-prepping for AtoZ. I get the basic theme (BT) idea, then I DO scroll through the alphabet to find A to Z words/ideas that fit the BT. That is one of the very few lists I make. Every year I wind up changing parts of my list as the story dictates. This year it will most likely happen a bit more as things deteriorate further.

I know you have the kids at home: husband delegation time!!!! 🙂

    Good luck, Shari

  2. Hi Shari,
My work schedule, life style and to-do list already cramps my time to write and I’ve never looked at the A to Z because I worry that I’d fail embarrassingly early on.

Last year I tried hard to expand my readership, but it did not result in much improvement so, I’m backing off and trying to focus on other, but related efforts like self-interest study topics. I used to do this a lot, but parenting really distracted me (in the most wonderful ways of course) and now I’m spending more time learning new stuff of interest and writing about it. My Dime Of Times stories project is about done. I had a rough idea of how many of those stories I had in me and am just about at that point.

I’m looking forward to branching out to other efforts – like fiction which feels so weird after all my first-person autobiographical essays.

I also continue to enjoy our coffee shares. Each weekend something interesting surfaces and I still love getting to know folks from around the world.

I always enjoy hearing from you too. I think this round of the coffee share has proved to be a big success.

      1. Hi Shari and thanks for this gracious note. Sharing my writing has proved to be much more fun than I ever expected. My daughter predicted this and I hate it when she is so right about something I did not see. Anyway, I do have a link I’d love to have your reaction to. It’s a few months only now but is part of a growing collection of fiction and I wanted to try something a bit different than just fiction. It’s sorta nerd-lite but few know about this.

Hope you and your family are safely far away from any nasty virus’.
