A story for Parents

The Penis Chronicles presents “A story for Parents.”

This story starts like all great fairytales, with the words “once upon a time” and it goes like this:

Once upon a time the children were very well behaved all the time. Parents and children lived happily ever after. The end!

Well behaved all the time? Wouldn’t that be boring? July’s theme here at Writing is Communication is flash fiction and that was part of my inspiration today. Now I am hoping that you will share a story about a time the kid(s) were well behaved or not well behaved. You can share your story in the comment section below or post a link in the comment section below.

The Penis Chronicles is a weekly platform for sharing childcare stories, advice & etcetera. Raising children is an adventure! And please, I know the title says “penis chronicles”, but stories about raising girls are very much welcome. Please post and share your link and/or your comments in the comments section below.

  1. I’ll offer a story, told from the perspective of the small boy involved. I’ve received lots of verbal feedback from my and other parents that this is why they want to lock their boys up until they reach some mythical age of being rational. It’s been about a year since I read it and it still comes back as one of the richest memories I have of my grammar school years and many have told me I had no business surviving. Consider carefully before reading it to your boys. I hope you enjoy: https://garyawilsonstories.wordpress.com/the-rock-quarry-adventure/

    1. Well I certainly am curious. The “magical age of being rational” rings true with my parenting thoughts. Heading your way now to check it out. Thanks for sharing Gary!
