Ignorant
We had stopped running.
“He didn’t tell me! Cord knows about everything’s coming and goings,” Glitter said.
“How?” I asked.
“Well he’s right at the front door all the time. It’s the only way in and out!”
“All the time? I didn’t see anyone!”
“He was there” she insisted without a trace of doubt in her voice.
“There wasn’t anybody there.” I argued envisioning the front entrance in my mind.
Glitter laughed.
“What?” I asked.
Exasperated she said, “You probably wouldn’t see him.”
“Why?”
“Cord lives in the coat closet sleeping in the shoes and playing in the jacket pockets.”

Prompt for this 100 word post is from 101 Writing Prompts, prompt #95.
I should remove the tissues from my coat pocket before it’s hung up for the night. Wouldn’t want Cord getting sick.

Of course, I should’ve guessed that he would be there. A coat closet is a magical place to play, after all 🙂
