Autumn Coffee

g (1)

Here comes October! October is by far my favourite month of the year, and fall is my favourite season. This morning the buttery caramel flavour wafting from my coffee cup is muted by the smell coming from my scenty. A tart apple smell with tones of sweet buttery cinnamon fills the space in the room. I’d love to say this autumn smell is coming from a delicious pie in the oven and that it is carrying with it that warm throw-off heat from its time cooking, but that isn’t the case today. Perhaps this will be a truthful statement on Thanksgiving, that tasty holiday that is just around the corner.

I have slowly been working through a bit of a face life for my blog. I have changed some of the main pictures, updated the About Me page, and I am currently working on the DSC_0661home page. It just felt like time for a change. Mixed in with that activity I decided to submit a piece to Chicken Soup for the Soul, and I am excited to see how that plays out. I have also been thinking about participating in the Blog Ahead challenge again this year, but I just don’t think I would be successful so I am going to just keep plugging away the way I have been going.

On top of those projects I have been putting the finishing touches on a miniature dollhouse that I have been building. This is my first time taking on a craft of this nature, and I am happy to say that I have really enjoyed it. There has been a bit of a learning curve and I am not going to win any prizes for best craftsmanship, but with the tricks I learned this time around the next time will go a little smoother. I find the tiny little replication items fascinating. Of course people keep asking what I am planning to do with a dollhouse because I have sons, but it is the perfect size for superheroes. My plan for the next house will be to decorate it with tiny furnishings and accessories.

Anyway, as the warmth is beginning to slip away from my coffee I want to confess that I haven’t been spending much time commenting on the posts I have been visiting, nor have I been editing my memoirs, or doing my research for that bigger piece I want to write. So, I plan to build those things in with my coffees over the next few days.

I’m excited to share my Halloween plans, but I am going to try and hold off until I can do so with some photographs…

Now, how have you been?

    1. So I confess that I had to google jacaranda tree; it is beautiful! As for the miniature I found it fascinating, I will try and share some picture of the inside once I finish all the tiny details. Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I love your coffee cup. How often do we not want to do adult? Hope your submission goes well. Just putting one in is fantastic – I keep procrastinating, both about doing my memoir editing and submitting pieces. I look forward to hearing more about your projects in future posts. Your dolls house looks stunning. Thanks for sharing.
