If we were having coffee, I would share that I’ve been invited to attend a Writer Showcase in October. I feel grateful for the invitation and look forward to my first showcase event. I’m excited to meet other local authors and speak with book lovers who attend the event.
If we were having coffee, I would share that book club starts back up next week. I’m looking forward to seeing what our monthly themes are going to be and what book everyone matches to the themes. It’s a fun way to run a book club. Our theme for this first meeting after summer break is “What you read over the summer.” I’m reading Fateless by Julie Kagawa right now, so that will be the book I talk about.

I like the idea of choosing a book with a common theme for a book club. That sounds delightful. I wonder how you choose your themes.

For themes, we just make suggestions and discuss the options. October’s theme is based on the Library and the staff’s picks. So, we have nine books to choose from. That’s a bit different than what we normally do, though. One of our previous themes was eclectic, so that was a fun one to select a book for.
