Welcome to book review twenty-three of fifty-three for this year’s virtual coffee shares. I’ve picked books that are related to the theme here at Brewing Coffee, Twisting Words & Breaking Pencils—coffee, books, and puzzles.

I confess Before the Coffee Gets Cold was on my list to read, but I haven’t yet got to it. This book is the first in a series of five books. Customer reviews on Amazon rate it as 4.1 out of 5. The Goodreads average rating is 3.69. Have you read Before the Coffee Gets Cold? What can you share about your reading experience?
If we were having coffee, I would share a picture of the “Breakfast in Bed” puzzle I completed. I am working on one more, but with the nice weather, puzzling is becoming less frequent.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I purchased a new loose-leaf tea to try. It’s called manoomin apple pie from David’s Tea. The scent of sweet apples blended with cinnamon and cardamom makes it a cozy cup of tea.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I am considering taking a course to earn my mystery writing certificate. Although I am waffling between that and two other certificates: romance and writing for children. The mystery and romance options would be beneficial for my writing and my book coaching. The writing for children would be good for book coaching and freelance reviews. Each course starts in July, so I have a bit of time to decide. With that in mind, I added a qualifications section to my Home Page. I’ve been wanting to add it for a while, but I wasn’t sure the best way to include it. It looks like this:

Here is the coffee bean grinder, virtual friend. How was your week?
By Shari Marshall – 2025

I have read the first two Before the Coffee Gets Cold stories and absolutely loved them. The writing style is unique and gentle so it feels very…special. Like I am truly walking into another world an experiencing the stories through the characters eyes. I would absolutely read at least the first book. I intend to read all of them 🙂
