When I clamber to my feet I see my coffee cup sitting quietly on the table watching with wide eyes. I blink, rub my eyes, and refocus on my cup. It’s still staring at me.
“How?” I mumble.
“Louder, Shari. I can’t hear you.”
“That’s because I wasn’t talking to you,” I fire back without thought. I smack my hand on my forehead. “Oh man, I’m talking to my coffee.”
“No, not your coffee Shari. I’m your coffee cup.”
I peek at the cup through my fingers. “Excellent point, cup. And now my coffee cup is correcting me! What’s next?”
“My name is Bramble.”
I drop my hand and look directly at my cup. “Pardon?”
“My name is Bramble and not cup.”
“Nice to meet you, Bramble . . .”

If we were having coffee, I would remind you that for 2023 I’m starting my coffee share posts with a running story themed around enchanted coffee (posted at the top in italics).
If we were having coffee, I would thank everyone for the book suggestions with U titles including the Goodreads link. I had originally been planning to Untamed (book 3) by Brenda Davies. I confess that it’s a vampire series that I haven’t read the first two books of, but I wanted to give this title a try. Unfortunately, it’s not available. So, with your help I have a list of U titles that are as follows:
Utopia by Lincoln Child
Up from Slavery by Booker T. Washington
Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe
Under the Dome by Stephen King
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Unnatural Exposure by Patricia Cornwell
So, I need to finishing reading letter X. Then I might start H and then read U. For those of you who are wondering what I’m talking about. I’m reading my way through books that start with each letter of the alphabet, in no set order, in preparation for April’s A-to-Z challenge.
If we were having coffee, I would share that this week was busy. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I’m looking forward to Friday night and Friday night movie. This week we are watching Black Adam, and I can’t wait to dig into my own big bowl of hot buttery popcorn!
If we were having coffee, I would pass you the coffee pot eager to hear about your week.

Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Natalie the Explorer. I hope you have a chance to join us for a virtual cup. Coffee share #4 in 2023.
I’ve been meaning to read Uncle Tom’s cabin for a while but there just never be time. That’s always the case with life, isn’t it? I tried to listen to Under the Dome and even tried to watch the series, couldn’t get into it, the plot was too slow for my liking. Thanks for the coffee. 🙂

“Uncle Tom’s Cabin” is actually on my Kindle from a while back, but same as you, I never got around to it. Thanks for stopping in. Have a great Friday!

Hi Shari – I do like the name “Bramble” – I might save it for a cat down the track (not for one of my coffee cups though). Glad you found your U book and that things are progressing well – I must say, I do enjoy a good vampire book – it’s a shame yours was out of stock.

Leanne, is there a vampire book you recommend (no letter constrictions)?

I like popcorn & all the different popcorn seasonings. Not all the seasonings at one time, though I do like to try all the different ones, one at a time. Pumpkin spice is an interesting one. The dill pickle one, I’ve not decided about it yet. #Weekendcoffeeshare

Dill pickle popcorn seasoning is a favourite mixed with a little bit of white cheddar. Thanks for stopping in, Karen.

Bramble sounds like a cup Grimble Grumble (a gnome) would use (I stole the name from Pink Floyd for a recent story). I bet I know your theme for the A-Z Challenge. lol. I think you are smart to do the hard letters first. A quick search for books that begin with X, the only one that jumped out to me was biography of Malcolm X.
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Grimble Grumble the gnome, that’s great!
There are certain letters for A to Z that present a challenge every year. I think I’m well prepared this year, but it’s been a lot of work with a bit more to go. Thanks for stopping in, Trent. Have a great weekend.

Thank you! How was the movie?

The movie was okay. It was a different role to see Dwayne Johnson acting in. My youngest son really enjoyed it. For our next scheduled movie night, we are going to watch the new Black Panther movie.

Your alphabet reading plan sounds like an intriguing idea for the A-Z challenge. Also a good way to read books you might not otherwise try. I hope it’s fun!

Yes, the alphabet reading has already drawn me into a few books I might not have picked up otherwise. Thanks for stopping in Janet.
