Welcome to our first enchanted coffee of 2023

Are you familiar with that deep-seated feeling of tiredness? The kind of tiredness that weighs down all your limbs and clings to your thoughts like sleepy spiderwebs? Maybe you’re working too hard and sleeping too little, or perhaps life is just coming at you from all sides and it’s wearing you down. Well, that was how I was feeling the morning coffee changed everything!

If we were having coffee, I would explain that for 2023 I am going to start my coffee share posts with a running story themed around enchanted coffee (posted at the top in italics). Since 2016, I have started my coffee share with a description of my coffee, but this year I felt like I wanted to shake things up so enchanted coffee it is. I hope you will come back next week to learn how coffee changed everything!

If we were having coffee, I would start by saying Happy New Year and asking how were your holidays. It’s great to be back with you at virtual coffee.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I made a slight change to my Coffee Share Feature image:

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that I have started creating my Book 2 page. You can check it out: here. I would love to hear what you think. As you will see at the top of that Book 2 page that Advanced Reader Copies of Chimera and Curses are still available for the price of your email address. Please note that you will receive very limited emails from me if you choose to sign up. I’m not a fan of getting tons of emails from things I sign up for; I appreciate the bare minimum and that is how I’m running my email list. Well, enough on that.

If we were having coffee, I would share that the Christmas holidays were relaxing. It felt fast, but we made the best of it. There were board games, laughter, great food, lots of treats, a few gifts, and lots of family time. I was back to the grind on January 3, 2023. A short week was a nice way to ease back into it, but I’m ready for the weekend. I did post a Holiday Coffee post where I shared some of my Elf on the Shelf pictures; if you would like to check those out you can click the words Holiday Coffee.

    1. I have this coffee at a cafe. The glass makes it easier for me to drink from since my upper mouth reconstruction after oral cancer. The double shot is a latte- milk added. It makes a very strong & very satisfying cuppa!

  1. Hi Shari – I know all about the weight of tiredness – hence my #WOTY – Live Lightly – I want to shed that weight and drink some magic coffee and feel light again.

  2. I don’t sleep well, so I understand how you can feel the weight of tiredness. I’m pleased to hear that your Christmas/ New Year was a relaxing time. Looking forward to your next enchanted coffee. My coffee is an important part of my day, but I don’t seem to have written about it as yet.

    1. Hi Jennifer. Happy New Year. I started writing about my coffee a few years ago during coffee share. I wasn’t sure how to start my coffee share posts and I wanted to use my blogging to practice various writing skills. So, it just fell into place. I enjoy it and I found that visitors enjoyed the descriptions too.
Thanks for stopping in. Have a great Saturday.

  3. Hi Shari,
Our holidays sounded like yours. We had a mix of hurrying around because oldest son and our DIL were part of a big Christmas show at the church she used to work at. She’s an amazing singer and their shows are always top notch spectaculars so she, in particular was exhausted. Our son played multiple guitars and the music to was larger than life loud and proud fun. Big crowds and lots of kids to wow so it was lots of fun. Back home, it was quiet. We had all three of ours back + the DIL &+ the youngest’s GF who we were finally getting some time to get to know and were thrilled to discover that she’s a wonderful woman who now has us hoping to hear sometime soon that an engagement is planned. Our daughter is not adverse to finding romance but is so focused on her med school studies that she’s not making time to accelerate this slice of life. Board games happened, reams of snacks were consumed, gifts exchanged.
A perfect Chrismas by many measures left us feeling both alone when everyone went home but so very blessed.
Happy 2023 to you and yours.
