Coffee S’mores?

The top of the Keurig pod reads “S’MORES: Chocolate + graham cracker + marshmallow flavoured coffee.” Instantly my head fills with memories of a hot rich tasting s’more cookie fresh off the campfire. The chocolate is melting from the heat of the marshmallow, sweat and sweater! However, my black s’mores flavoured coffee didn’t deliver any of that punch. It was just a black coffee with slight smoky hints. I enjoyed it none-the-less but I knew that a crunchy graham cookie sandwiching gooey chocolate and marshmallow would come in a few short hours when we got to the campsite.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that we spent Monday to Friday camping. Sadly, it is only our second time out this season. It was a good time though and the boys are getting really good at the washer toss game we play when we camp. However, the phone rang as we walked in the door and my step-father is in the hospital. We are waiting test results to know more…

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I got a few real neat pictures of a bee. It was a real photogenic little creature. Sorry, I am not going to share it today though. I am going to use it for a photo prompt on September 16, 2020. Hope you can stop back to check it out.

If we were having coffee I would share with you that with fall being around the corner I am feeling pretty excited about it. I love the colours of fall: orange, brown, brownish red and gold. Who doesn’t love pumpkin this and pumpkin that? Anyway, I spent a bit of my camping time talking about fall foods: chili, cheesy crockpot potatoes, squash, apple cider, carrot cake, homemade soup and more.

Well, on that note I think that it is time for breakfast and another cup of coffee. How was your week?

  1. Hi Sharri
I’ve been disappointed in most of the special flavored coffees. As you said, it is only a hint of that flavor. Shame. I bought a Chocolate-Raspberry medium roast hoping; it really wasn’t very good.

Hope your father-in-law is doing better

    YAY for Fall!!!

  2. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law.
I hope he bounces back quickly and fully recovered.
Looking forward to that bee photo.
If it’s got your attention, it must be something special.

  3. Fall is something to look forward too. I notice our days getting slightly shorter. The temperatures are still very comfortable, but the days are shorter. I think that one of my mystery plants, that started to grow out of the compost, is a pumpkin plant. I doubt we will have huge pumpkins..but still..fall and fall colours are cozy 🙂 Looking forward to seeing your bee photos. Thank you for the coffee!

  4. I hope all is well with your father-in-law. I miss the taste and smell of coffee, as I have stopped drinking it since getting acid reflux, and I have to agree a lot of the flavored ones do fail to deliver the punch, as you call it. Fall is my favorite season, you just can’t beat the color and the way it makes you feel. I was lucky enough to experience it vacationing with family in Chicago back in 2015, something I’d like to experience all over again when the pandemic is over. Thanks for sharing, I hope your weekend is well.
