Ah, coffee

The coffee is rich and black in my cup this morning. The bitter scent lifts my spirits with the promise of morning energy infused into my soul with every hot delicious sip. I thought about adding a touch of honey this morning. I enjoy dipping the spoon into that sticky creamed gold and slowly pulling away a scoop of that sweet bee product only to watch the contrast of colour as it slowly disintegrates into that dark liquid. However, this morning I didn’t succumb to the call for sugar of any sort.

Ah, coffee.

If we were having coffee I would ask if any of you had problems last coffee share with the linkz? I couldn’t get it to load so I didn’t link up. I felt a bit sad about that, but here we are for a new virtual drink now. Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Eclectic Alli. I hope you have a chance to join us for a virtual cup: here.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that over Spring Break I kept my boys doing homeschool. We didn’t do as much as were on the previous weeks but I didn’t want to break the new routine completely. So, I assigned my older boy a book report. He read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume and answered a series of questions on each chapter. At the end he had all the information collected to complete a cereal box book report. Fun stuff. I also read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing because I needed to be able to help him and mark his work. What a fun and cute story!

If we were having coffee I would point out that there are only a few letters left to complete in the 2020 A to Z challenge. Sadly, I don’t have a very satisfied feeling from it this year and I am not sure why. Regardless, I am glad that a participated. I had a few letters that seemed to better than others. I shared “I” last week but here are a couple others. Letter “P” was popular. If you would like to read it please just click: here. Letter “N” was popular as well: here.

What were some of your successes this A to Z?

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I have big plans to make a homemade lasagna and my older boy has been wanting to make cookies so I think it is going to be a tasty day. Hope everyone is staying safe and I wish you all a nice week!

  1. Hi Shari: I think we both shard early on that this year does feel different. Less people reading, and fewer comments being made. I’ve seen some posts (many for India bloggers) with 30-40 comments daily. Some communities rally around either their writers or the niche markets take the next step. Here is nothing but division and “me me me”. Not a huge change, but it’s much more in everyone’s face. Example: the ones who are protesting being quarantined to the ones whose brains have shorted and are ingesting bleach and other cleaning products. It’s gotten to the point “common sense” no longer has any meaning, or place, in our society.
Keep writing. Stay healthy. Bake that lasagna.
