Beber, Leer y Visitar – Drink, Read and Visit
The instant coffee grinds that I spooned into my cup are a fine powder substance instead of the more pebble like grinds that I am use to. The hot water sinks down into them and slowly start to produce a soft toffee like colour. When I slip my spoon beneath the hot liquid I am confronted by a thick sludge at the bottom of the mug that requires my assistance to mix into the water. A pale foam floats on the surface of the browned water and tiny wisps of steam rise from it carrying a sweet vanilla smell. The tangy of coffee is present when the liquid flows over my taste buds but it too is mixed with vanilla and hints of a creamer note. This French vanilla coffee is something that I buy one can of and only over the winter holidays; it is almost gone now.
Well, here we are in 2020. Hope everyone is enjoying it so far. I am happy to say that I have had this first week of 2020 off of work. Our Christmas vacation was a success and the week at home with the kids has been good too.

I fast note about Christmas holidays. We travelled to Mexico. Some of you might remember that I took that first beginner’s Spanish course in the fall? Well, I was pleasantly surprised with my first encounter off the plane because as the lady was sifting through papers to look for our name she was talking to herself and she said, “tengo frío” and my first thought was you should feel the minus 15 weather I just left behind and my second thought was holy smokes I know what she said! Another interesting thing was “Comer, Rezar, Amar” also known as “Eat, Pray, Love” and it was on tv one night as we were getting ready for dinner. I love the book and movie and was thrilled to see that I could following along a bit with the Spanish.

I have started 2020’s photo prompt posts. January 1, 2020 post was titled Photo Prompt 2020 Week 1 and my contribution to the prompt was called “containing or relating to alcoholic liquor”. This was the image if you are looking for a prompt for a post over the next few days and right now I have the prompt set to be open for 2 weeks.
Back to work Monday and it looks like we will be listing our house sometime this month. We have accepted a transfer within the province. It is one of those sad yet exciting experiences for the whole family. I think that is really my biggest news to share at this time.
How are you?

Wow – Shari.
Moving home and family is huge in my book.
I hope it goes smoothly and proves to be itself a grand memory for the whole family.

If you can watch the Spanish TeleNovelas with the subtitles on, it will help you learn Spanish faster… if that’s a thing you want to do. I used to teach ESL, and that was the advice my kiddos gave me so my Spanish could improve.
I will be checking out your photo prompts! Some of my best poetry came from photo prompts! Happy New Year!

Yes, I need to try some TeleNovelas. I watched a couple movies with the subtitles on but it was a bit long.
Hope you find a prompt that inspires you! Thanks for stopping in.

How exciting, a vacation to Mexico and then a move. Best of luck with the house. I know it can be a bittersweet feeling to move from one beloved house into the uncertainty of a hopefully loved house. So happy you got use of your Spanish. It is great to understand what’s being said around you, even when it is not your native language that is spoken. I know the feeling. Thank you for the delicious coffee!
