The paper coffee cup is burning in my hand, the heat is comforting against the cold. The feel of the plastic lid cracking open and snapping back is exciting and the steam that escapes is rich with a café mocha smell. I know it is too hot to bring the liquid to my lips but I hold the cup up feeling the heat against my lip and the steam caressing my nose. Umm, I can’t wait to taste the rich treat locked within the paper cup.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that it was another busy week. Lots of holiday preparations. We have done sledding a few times and what is supposed to be a half hour has turned into an hour and a half. There has been Santa pictures, gift wrapping, school activities and tomorrow we are going to make chocolate covered pretzels for the boy’s teachers.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am anticipating a few small changes to my blog in the New Year. I had given the format and colour scheme a face lift a couple years ago and I am very happy with how that all turned out. However, if we travel back to 2015 when I first created this blog I was 100% new to the world of blogging. My first big struggle was what to call my blog. Writing is Communication made sense to me at the time because I was starting the blog because I wanted to communication my writing and all the ideas in my head. Coming up with the subtitle line for the blog was nearly the end of me, but eventually I settled on “Share, Discover and Enjoy.” These areas are where I am considering making a little change. I am not sure yet what that it going to look like, but the thoughts are rolling…
If we were having coffee I would share with you that I am currently sorting through a stash of pictures, so stay tuned for 2020 photo prompts! You can see this advertised on my Home Page.

Do you have someone working with advising on the blog facelift? I too am thinking of making some changes.

I don’t but that would have been a helpful tool for sure.

It is interesting to do a blog facelift every once in a while. I’ve found a theme that works for me, but I recently changed the background color to an icy blue. I am planning on keeping the main theme, so that people feel at home, but changing the background color by the season. I’ve been experimenting for 9 years before finding “the right” theme and title for my blog. It’s been part of the fun, and sometimes cause of slight frustration 🙂 Looking forward to see what you are settling for. Thank you for the coffee!

It is progression for sure and just finding along the way what works. I love the idea of changing the colour with the season! I think for this next blog lift I am just going for the name at least at the start. Thanks for stopping in.

Hi Shari. I too am considering revamping my blog site. I’m not looking forward to it because it takes so much time to figure out all the tricks of making WordPress do something I like. But my page & post collection is now several years old and big enough that my current menu system is on the edge of being unusable. I’m also beginning to think that I need to drop some $$ and just pay for a plan that includes real support. So far the only thing I’ve put into my site is the time it took to arrange what I have and time to write up my stories.
Count me among those who look forward to anything from “Writing is Communication”. Hope you and your family are having a great holiday season.

I can’t wait to see the changes you make. I have thinking about buying the plan as well, but I don’t think I am ready yet.
Happy holidays to you and yours as well Gary!
