Celebrate summer with iced coffee

The plastic cup in my hand is already sweating. The ice clinks refreshingly as I swirl it around not only to enjoy the sound but to see the movement of the soft brown liquid. I know that first taste will be a milky expresso flavour with hints of vanilla and cold surprise pops of sweet caramel. Yum! Delicious summer heat paired with an iced caramel macchiato.

If we were having coffee I would introduce you to August’s theme: summer. I hope to post one summer inspired theme everyday this month and I hope that you will join me.

If we were having coffee I would share a photo prompt post that I posted on July 28: “Melting“. A bit of a contrast to the iced coffee I talked about earlier. Anyway, I wanted to share “They Ran” by Stu at Tale Spinning. I absolutely loved his response to the photo prompt and would recommend that you swing by and check it out.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I decided that I would go with a slow read of book 14 in The Wheel of Time Series. Some of you might recall me talking about feeling sad to be coming to the end of the series and battling with whether I wanted to race through and see how it all ends or savour the last of it. Well, I decided to savour and I am doing a few pages an night. It is a fabulous last read so far. To supplement I am reading a Hobby Honey Bee Keeping book to see if I really want to try my hand as a hobby bee keeper. More to come on that I am sure.

If we were having coffee I would ask you how your was went?

  1. I’ve been drinking a fair amount of iced coffee lately, especially carmel machiatto. It’s delish! Been reading an older series of books by the Theone’s( Bodie& Brock)… I believe it’s called the Jeruselam chronicles, and I’ve started the “A.D. Chronicles” series. I read them slow and savor them, too. Thanks for the coffee, and hope to see you around the table next week!
