Coffee Indoors

One of the great things about a hot drink on a cold day is that warming feeling that races through your body from the heat in your hand and then from those first few sips. It doesn’t really matter what hot drink is in the mug because it has the same effect: hot chocolate, tea, apple cider, and coffee it all warms the same.

I am in doors drinking my hot coffee this morning and it is warm, but the January weather rages outside. Inside I can’t see the heat rising from my coffee there isn’t a great contrast jan 12 2019 image 1enough contrast in temperatures but I know if I cracked open the door it wouldn’t be long until the steam would be visible as it misted off the coffee.

If we were having coffee this frosty cold morning I would tell you that we finally popped the quark on that bottle of ice wine we bought way back in July. We bought it when we visited the Dirty Laundry Winery. It was a Hoar Frost Merlot ice wine 2014. We tried it first in the little chocolate cups but I wanted to see the colour. The little bit I sipped from a wine glass showed a soft rose colour. The flavour was delicious. My only complaint is that the bottle is so small.

If we were having coffee I would also share with you the first batch of cupcakes in 2019.

If we were having coffee I would share that I have a guest post scheduled for the 16th of January. I am very excited to have a guest post this month and I hope you will get a chance to pop by and check it out.

If we were having coffee I would also share the link to a couple posts that I enjoyed this week. This is not an extensive list, it is more like a snippet:

  1. Steam was rising from my coffee when I first poured it – it was 0 F this AM out, and I keep my house cold…. cupcakes look delicious and the wine sounds good. Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  2. Hi Shari.
Yep – I too love that hot drink, especially, when I’m out in the cold and have noticed that the steam really depends on the contrast in temperature. I’m not going to think too much about your cupcakes – they are often tasty, but prove to be no friends of mine. It’s a diet thing.

Okay, I’ll take a run at a fun contrast. I had an adventure in high school that I think qualifies for the call out. I wrote it up and there is a stark contrast between the apparent meaning of the title and how the event actually unfolded. It should be a 10 minute read and I call it: The Prom Date Adventure.

I hope you can see this in your mind. What would you have done?
    Happy New Year.

  3. Those cupcakes are almost too pretty to eat! They look delicious, though so I wouldn’t be able to hold back long before devouring at least one or two. Hope your coming week is amazing! See you around the coffee share.

  4. Thanks for the cupcake and glass of wine. I’m needing a bit of a lift after explaining the transformations to the returned scout’s bedroom while she’s been away. Not good with change, but this was an intervention and clearly something I did for fun!!
The cupcakes look amazing and very pretty. Yum.
Hope you have a great week.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena
