The scent of coffee drifting on the air currents is welcome this morning. The solid weight of my white and red coffee mug in my hand is grounding. This mug has a coloured image of Grumpy Dwarf on it standing glaring with his arms crossed and in the background are black and grey images of him in various grouchy stances. I love this mug.
Since our last coffee together so much has happened that I’m not actually sure where to start. Hmm, well some of you may be familiar with the fitness challenge between my husband and I. In our “eat clean” agenda we tried cauliflower friend rice. It was delicious. We told the kids, who won’t eat cauliflower, that it was a new special rice and they gobbled it up!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that my birthday came and went in October. Don’t tell anyone but I am traveling through the last year of my thirties. Next year’s birthday will be a big one.

If we were having coffee I’d share my excitement about The Wonder of Christmas hitting the bookstore shelves. “Pawing the tree” can be found under the section titled “Four-Legged Festivities.” **Chapters and Amazon** I did a bit of a post that detailed the inspiration for “Pawing the Tree” you can check it out here.
If we were having coffee in the wake of Halloween I would tell you it was a fun night. The temperature was the nicest that it has been in a few years of trick-or-treating but it was raining. The rain didn’t seem to bother the children at all. The boys were happy with the treats they collected and I was happy to freeze a number of tiny chocolate bars. The unfortunate aftermath of a late night in the rain was two very tired and grouchy boys, so they actually don’t get any of their candy till the end of the weekend.
If we were having coffee I would tell you that on the work front that November is Family Violence Prevention Month. There are a few local activities planned in relation to this. Two of my favourites are “Go Purple” (November 21) and “Take back the Night” (November 30).
If we were having coffee I would ask, “Now how have you been?”

Hi Shari. We too love cauliflower rice (actually cauliflower-anything really) but found it doesn’t keep well, so we only get it when a meal is planned with it. I always enjoy your visits. thanks for sharing some time with us this week. Blessings.

Cauliflower is tasty, hoping my boys will figure it out at some point. I will pop over your way now and see if you have any coffee and coffee news to share.

Happy birthday, fellow October-ian. Congrats on the publication. Iy is a big deal accomplishment worthy of excitement. ANd yes, if anything has a carrot in it, it is a free food–at least that is how I roll.
