The Tree
It sparkled in the moonlight, there was no stopping it. It signaled the end of a journey. The image of our dragonfly was lit up like jewels. The abdomen was vivid blues and greens like sapphires and emeralds. The exceptional sized wings shimmered throughout its webbing. Truly magnificent.
Sadly we returned it to the carved tree knowing that the tree needed its heart. As the burnt wood slipped back into its resting place we were shocked as it blended into the bark completely leaving only the faintest trace of the dragonfly’s outline. Just a whisper waiting for its next mission.

A lovely melancholy feel to this, as their exciting journey comes to an end – but not the story, looking forward to the last few days.
