The delicious scent of rich coffee underlain with subtle hints of caramelized vanilla lingers in the air this morning. My brain feels sluggish and unwilling to wake. It seems in the aftermath of April’s A to Z challenge that my pen to paper and fingers to keyboard process is exhausted.
April has been a busy writing month. I contributed an essay to The Cauldron Anthology. I also had the privilege of providing a guest post to The Female Project. If you aren’t familiar with this blog site I encourage to you to check it out. The posts are raw with emotion and very powerful. My contribution to The Female Project is a piece called Storm.
On top of those pieces, this was my first year participating in the A to Z challenge and I was surprised by the amount of work involved. That said, I read some amazing posts, found a number of new blogs to follow, and I have already started considering themes for next year.
Here are a few of my favourite posts, and it is just a few because there are too many to list:

Anyway, that’s all I have the energy for right now. The warm coffee mug in my hand is tempting me to put my feet up, sit back, close my eyes, and sip the hot liquid slowly while breathing in its delicious scent.
If we were having coffee I would let you take over the conversation and I would relax and listen happily to your over-coffee stories.

The April AtoZ Challenge can be a lot of fun. I almost joined again this year but just wasn’t ready for it this time around and had too much else going on to be able to commit to blogging nearly every day… I’m hoping next year maybe (need to get a head start) I’ll try again.

I was wondering how overwhelming the A to Z project could feel. Maybe I’ll try it next year (starting with writing posts in advance in January 🙂 …)
