October’s Snowy Sunday Post

snow

The scene outside my window displays soft white flakes falling against a background of grey sky. A white blanket conceals the green grass beneath and it veils the rooftops and trees around me. October snow in the extreme has fallen so many days this week that I have lost count. Yesterday we built a snow fort! Where is fall? I feel as if I should be putting up my Christmas tree not my Halloween decorations.

Other big news this week would be my article going live on Mamalode: That Old Rocker. This is my second time having a piece published and I am very happy about it. I believe that I have blogging to thank for it because I am now writing regularly and finding my writing voice. Lots of fun.

I am participating in my first blogging challenge: BlogAhead2016. I have an end goal of 34 posts for my 2017 stockpile. This week I completed enough posts that my total to date is at 16. I am working at a rate of one a day, and I feel confident that I will reach my goal by the end of the month.

I used to reading a novel or more a week, but I find I just don’t have the time for that right now. It takes me a few weeks to finish a book depending on the length of it. In light of the snowy weather this week I have found myself in front of the fire place in the evenings enjoying a few more pages than usual. I have to admit that it feels like a nice treat in that regard.

What I’m Reading

An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon

What I’m Reading Next

Written in my own Heart’s Blood also by Diana Gabaldon

  1. Wow that’s weird you already got so much snow! Here it’s nice autumn weather, cold, but not too cold and with beautiful autumn colored leaves everywhere. We didn’t got any snow at all last year, so I do hope we’ll get some snow this year. I do like snow and how pretty it looks. Although it can be a bit annoying if you have to go somewhere.

You’re doing great with Blog Ahead! I hope to get a few posts written this week. Have a great week!

  2. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where here on the western side we count ourselves lucky to get snow once or twice a winter. I went to college in Vermont, and I remember my shock when it snowed on October 4th my first year! Those Gabaldon books are huge; good luck with them!

  3. Snow already- wow! It’s been cooling off here but no sign of the white stuff yet. Won’t be long though I’m sure. It is nice to stay in and read though when the snow is falling, there is that. 🙂

Congrats on having your article published! And good luck with BlogAhead.
