Photo-a-day and coffee news

Welcome to the eighteenth book review of fifty-three. As you know, I used to provide freelance book reviews to several review companies. It was a great experience that introduced me to new authors and their wonderful books. Each week this year, I’m opening my Weekend Coffee shares with a link to a review I’ve provided. Reviews are three stars or higher. The genres range from picture books to fiction and nonfiction titles.

My Love Story
Author Tina Turner
Published in September 2019
The publisher is Atria Books
Available in Audiobook, eBook, and Hardcover, Paperback (272 pages)
Composer & Musician Biographies (Books) | Musician Biographies (Books) | Women’s Biographies (Books)

If we were having coffee, I would share that My Love Story is a book that I had listed as a to-be-read on my 60-before-60 bucket list. Have you read it?

If we were having coffee, I would remind you that there is no Weekend Coffee Share linkup this week. Please leave your link in the comments below so I can stop by for a virtual coffee.

If we were having coffee, I would share that my photograph-a-day challenge is going well. Today I will share picture 157 of 365. I started the challenge to remind myself to be present, mindful, and grateful, and I’m happy to say that I’m achieving those goals. Photographs range from animals, food, books, coffee, people, and nature. Here are a few of my nature pictures from the previous week.

  1. I particularly like the last photograph, with that clear blue sky and sparkling water.

I haven’t read Tina Turner’s autobiography, though I know some of her story, and know she is a strong, amazing woman on top of being a great performer. Not yet 60; will have to add this one to my TBR!

The last book I read and very greatly enjoyed was Otessa Moshfegh’s “Year of Rest and Relaxation.” I reviewed it here: https://letzbeereal.wordpress.com/2026/04/20/the-early-aughties-were-decadent-and-depraved/

Also, now I need coffee. ☕️

    1. Thank you for stopping in, Isobel. Nature pictures are one of my favorites to share.

I haven’t read “Year of Rest and Relaxation,” but I like the title. Thanks for the link; I’m heading that way now.

      Enjoy your coffee.
