A summer update

“Murder at the Library” is a popular book title. This novel was on my to-be-read list for weekend coffee share as book twenty-one. I ended up not going through my list in order, and this isn’t a cozy mystery that I’m going to read this year. Have you read it? Can you share your opinion of the book?

If we were having coffee, I would share that I am reading my first Nora Roberts novel. It’s called Year One. It’s been an interesting read, and I’ve already added book two to my to-be-read list.

If we were having coffee, I would share that my family and I added a couple of new board games to our collection. Risk was the first one we added, and we are enjoying playing it in the evenings. We also added Farkle. They are very different games, but we are enjoying both.

If we were having coffee, I would share that we’ve been enjoying summer ice cream regularly from our favourite ice cream place.

Here is the coffee bean grinder. How was your week? Have you read any books, played any board games, or tasted any ice cream?

  1. We love going out for ice cream in the summer and have lots of local ice cream stands that are only open seasonally and we try to spread the wealth around to help them all out. I’ve read quite a few Nora Roberts books but I never read Year One; I honestly don’t like her magic books.

      1. Does she have a title that you would recommend, Joanne? I am enjoying Year One and will read another more by Nora Roberts as a result. So, having a recommendation about which one to try would be wonderful.]

        Happy Saturday.

  2. A summer without good ice cream isn’t really a summer, is it? For the summer break I usually tock the freezer with popsicles. We (nowadays my daughter and me, since my son is on his own now) enjoy going our for ice cream. There is a local, small ice cream factory that makes extraordinary ice cream, they sell the ice cream in a few well chosen places. Our favourite place to get Rättviks Glass is at my daughter’s favourite beach. The ice cream is kind of expensive and a special treat a few times every summer.
