A to Z Blogging

Nobody should write alone all the time.

Want to write a novel? Don’t want to write alone? Looking for support and accountability?

November is National Novel Writing Month. This wasn’t something I knew about when I first dipped my pencil into the writing waters. I was searching for writing challenges and groups and NaNoWriMo, also known as National Novel Writing Month, popped up.

NaNoWriMo, which started in 1999, is a nonprofit writing group. Writers can join virtually to set writing goals, writing, and have support. Fifty-thousand words written during November is the common goal. For more information on NaNo, you can access the website here: NaNo.***include a link to NaNo.

I wrote from From the Ashes during NaNoWriMo in 2023 and credited it in the acknowledgement section of that book.

I wrote this post for letter N of the 2025 A-to-Z blog challenge.

  1. NaNo is how I met my husband and two of my closest friends, so it will always hold a place in my heart. Unfortunately, it’s now ending, which is probably for the best given some of the issues they’ve had over the last ~2 years. But finding a writing community is definitely a great thing! It changed my writing for the better in many ways! We haven’t fully come back since the pandemic, and I miss meeting weekly with my writing tribe.
