Pictures & Coffee—2024-52

Would you rather grow a coffee plant or live on a coffee bean? **I have a coffee plant. I have had it for years; it has produced no coffee beans yet. The idea of living on a coffee bean is fun. I love fantasy and I can feel a story brewing . . .
Would you rather have a coffee-themed Christmas tree ornament or a coffee-flavoured candy cane? **I love coffee-themed Christmas ornaments.

If we were having coffee, I would ask how your Christmas holidays have been going. We are heading toward the end of 2024. Do you have any plans for New Year’s Eve?

If we were having coffee, I would share a picture of the eggnog cake I mentioned last week. What you can’t see in this picture is the missing back section of the cake. Riggs, my one-year-old boxer, tried the cake just after I had put the crumb coat on. The result was that I had to cut a chunk off the back of the back. Some days, that dog can be a handful. Did I mention that I asked the three other humans living in my house to watch the cake momentarily while I left the room? Anyway, the cake was tasty. It is a three-layer eggnog cake with a rum simple syrup, cream cheese frosting, and a white chocolate ganache topping.

If we were having coffee, I would share a few other holiday pictures:

I would also like to share pictures of a project that I finished. I have been wanting a place to keep my tarot cards, so I took an old box and refinished it. It was a fun project that I was able to theme for this purpose. I kept some of the original charm but added new hinges and feet. Inside has a purple felt bottom and the inside lid is a glitter blue-teal shelf wallpaper.

Here is the coffee pot. How are you?

Happy New Year.

  2. We just toured a coffee farm and enjoyed seeing the trees grow and learning how they harvest the beans. I’d rather have a coffee plant and even though I am not a real coffee person I still love all coffee/food themed ornaments! Your holiday photos are fabulous.

  3. Our last boxer, Elliot, was the world’s greatest counter surfer. He could nab a slice of cake off of the counter when three people were guarding it – After this happened a couple of times in a couple of days, he was no longer allowed within 10 feet of the door to my in-law’s kitchen… lol, I am sure Riggs was happy with his half of the cake. Looks good.

    Have a wonderful New Year!

  4. Mmmmmm, your cake looks delicious, Shari – almost too good to eat, but it looks like there is chocolate buried underneath. So, no, I’d eat it in a heartbeat! 🙂 Happy New Year! 🙂 xxxxx
