“Science may never come up with a better office communication system than the coffee break.”
– Earl Wilson

Would you rather be allergic to your coffee or allergic to people? **This question makes me laugh. I would rather be allergic to people because I am a coffee addict.
Would you rather have a cup of coffee that laughs or screams every time you pick it up? **I would rather have a cup of coffee that laughs every time I pick it up. If my coffee screamed, I might spill it; that would be tragic.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I had another Keurig break. This is my second one this year, and neither machine wasn’t even a year old. Needless to say, I am not happy with the Keurig brand right now. So, I pulled out my ancient coffee drip machine. The challenge I have with the drip is figuring out how many scoops of coffee grounds to dump into the filter to make a great-tasting cup of coffee. I also purchased a pour-over contraption, but it hasn’t arrived yet.
If we were having coffee, I would share that my husband and I did some appliance shopping this week. We didn’t make any purchases, but we have picked out the models we are hoping to put in the house when the build is complete. Our hardest choice was the fridge. We just had a hard time finding one that we liked the look of inside and out. Style was a problem, too. We’ve had the fridge with the freezer on the side, but you don’t get a lot of freezer space. We currently have the fridge with the freezer on the bottom, and we just aren’t loving it. So, that added to our decision difficulty. We ended up picking a model with the freezer on the bottom, but we opted out of it having a water dispenser.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I am doing a re-read of a book I first read forever ago when I was a grade eight student. It is a V. C. Andrews book called Dawn. I think I will re-read the entire series. I remember very little of the book and I’m surprised that I read it in grade eight. The hardships the main character goes through are crushing. Anyway, I’ll share a review on Goodreads when I finish it.
So, virtual coffee friend, let me pass you the coffee pot. Please tell me about your week.

I wouldn’t mind being allergic to coffee but I definitely wouldn’t want it to scream! I startle so easily I’d definitely jump every time anyone lifted their cups. I remember reading Flowers in the Attic and just loving it… but I don’t think I remember any of the plot points!

Thanks for playing, Joanne. Every time I think of my coffee screaming, I get a cartoon image of it pop into my head with slooshes of coffee flying out of the mug.
Yes, I read “Flowers in the Attic” years ago, too. I don’t remember much of it either. Perhaps it will be another re-read for me.
Happy Saturday.

Appliance shopping is so hard! We bought a house and they left us a fridge. We *hate* it, but it was free so… it stays! It’s the side by side and NOTHING fits! Both sides are so narrow. Ugh!
This week I had minor surgery on my dominant hand which is a major inconvenience. But the stitches are out, so now it’s just taking time to heal.

Finding a fridge was challenging. The refrigerator in our current house dyed months ago and we had to race out and find a replacement, it was a nightmare then too.
Hand surgery doesn’t sound like a good time. I’m glad to hear it is healing well.
Thank you for stopping in, Jayden.

I’d love to have a new fridge when my current fridge stops working but am not looking forward to the shopping part. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

I’m not sure why fridge shopping is so challenging, but it really is. Thanks for stopping in, Natalie.

We bought a new fridge recently and it took us forever to choose. I loved the V.C. Andrews books when I was a girl.

This fridge challenge seems to be a common thread in the discussion today. Thank you for weighing in on it, Jennifer. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
“Dawn” has been interesting to re-read. It’s been amusing to see what I used to enjoy reading.
Happy Saturday, Jennifer.

I don’t do keurig. Drip is better, but I actually like super old fashioned percolator coffee. I know it is odd, but it actually tastes closer to coffee shop coffee than drip, even though they use industrial drip machines. Anyway, enjoy your laughing drip coffee and enjoy your weekend! Have a wonderful week 🙂

A percolator coffee maker, eh? Perhaps I will need to look into that. Is it less challenging to measure the required coffee grounds?
Happy Saturday, Trent.

I have a scoop to measure. It is not exact, but pretty much 1 tablespoon for each 6 ounce cup (what it is measured in).
