High octane versus morning jolt—COFFEE 2024-38

Would you rather I ask another coffee-themed question or a regular one? **I’m having fun with the coffee-themed “Would you rather questions.” So, I would rather stick with those for a bit longer. How about you?Would you rather the world refer to coffee as High Octane or Morning Jolt? **I would rather refer to my coffee as a “Morning Jolt.”

If we were having coffee, I would share that my youngest son entertained me this week when he was prepping himself for school pictures. I expected a T-shirt and jeans. He called downstairs and asked to borrow a tie! My husband went up to help and came down to report that next year our son wants a suit for school pictures! I love the boy’s school pictures and I have an entire wall in the house dedicated to them. Anyway, my son ended up wearing a button-up dress shirt, with an undershirt, and a beaded necklace. He gelled his hair and left for class, looking handsome.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I started that new look-and-find puzzle this week, but I’m not far enough along to share a photograph of it yet.

If we were having coffee, for writing news I would share the link to The Prairies Book Review. They completed a series review on The Ember Files. My other book news is that I am still working with feedback from my alpha readers for my nonfiction parenting book. I’m hoping to share a title and maybe a blurb in the next few months. I also created an advertisement image for my author signing event and put it up under the “Book News” tab if you are interested in checking it out.

If we were having coffee, I would share a recent picture of the house. I was excited to see the windows in place as well as the front door. I have big dreams of sipping coffee on that porch. Anyway, the roofing was starting on Thursday so I will hopefully have a new picture to share next week too.

Here is the coffee pot, my virtual coffee friend. How was your week?

  1. Morning jolt does have a certain ring to it, doesn’t it? That front door is beautiful!! I bet you love seeing the progress on the new house; I can remember when we were building we’d stop by nearly every night to look at the progress and do some more planning.

    1. It does have a ring.

As for the door, thank you. It was so fun to pick. I will share a picture of the back door next week; it was just installed. I wish we were close enough to visit the build everyday. It’s so fun.

      Happy Saturday, Joanne.

  2. Morning jolt definitely resonates with me, as I couldn’t ever start the day without my morning jolt of coffee. The house is coming along, and that front door is beautiful. It’s an exciting time for you.

    1. I love my morning coffee jolt to, Jennifer.

I was saying to Joanne that my husband and I had a fun time picking doors. We had books with many door styles and colours and the store had pretty displays. It was fun. The back door was installed so I will share a picture next week. We did French doors there.

      Happy Saturday, Jennifer.

  3. I think your son is dressing more for school photos than I did for my niece’s “formal attire” wedding… lol. Glad there is actually progress on the house! Hopefully you will be able to enjoy it instead of having cause stress.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful week ahead 🙂
