Resources & Coffee—2024-25

Would you rather eat coffee-flavoured fudge or coffee ‘n’ cream brownies? *I would rather eat coffee-flavoured fudge.
Would you rather drink Vietnamese iced coffee or a regular hot coffee? *I like Vietnamese iced coffee, but I only like it as a treat. So, I would rather drink regular iced coffee.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I added a resource page for writers and editors. It’s going to be a page that I add to and update regularly.

If we were having coffee, I would share that ProWritingAid hosted Crime Writers Week this past week. This was excellent timing because my new series that I’m worldbuilding is going to have a crime component to it. So, Crime Writers Week was good for information and inspiration.

If we were having coffee, I would share I passed my copy edit course with an A minus. I was thrilled to get 91% on my final exam. This was a challenging course. I find copy editing to be technical and I wasn’t sure if I would feel as passionate about it as I do other types of edits. I’m happy to say that I loved it. There is something so satisfying about making a document sparkle. Anyway, on the heels of that course ending, my Plain Language course started. The teacher describes the course as “eye-opening.” So, we shall see what fun things I learn.

Anyway, that’s it for me right now. How was your week?

  2. I think I would choose the coffee and cream brownies, but that wasn’t really a fair choice. My mouth waters over both choices. Congratulations on your A-. That’s a great accomplishment on something that stumps a lot of people – including me and I always considered myself a grammar whiz until I started writing for a living. Eye opener!

    1. Writing and working with an editor on my first book is what drew me into the editing world. What I have found is knowing where to look to find the answers is half the battle. For most us, the Chicago Manual of Style is the style guide with the answers.

Thanks for playing “Would you rather.”

      Happy Sunday, Marsha.
