I actually wanted to title this post COFFEE 2024-7 but the strikethrough disappeared when I put it in the title field. It looks playful. Oh well, onto “Would you rather . . .”
Would you rather drink your coffee solo or with friends? ▪ I would rather drink coffee with friends.
Would you rather have black coffee or Java with cream and sugar? ▪ I love a hot mug of black coffee.

Big news—I decided that I’m going to take part in A-to-Z in April. You might recall that I wasn’t sure, but I can’t resist. So, I found myself a theme that would be fun but not time-consuming. Sorry, I can’t share the theme until the March theme reveal.
If we were having coffee, I would share the progress—my word of the year—with my craft cleanup. I finished the second diamond puzzle and added the material to the rectangular box. I’m rewarding myself with switching gears from craft cleanup to puzzling. So, I am working on that new puzzle I mentioned a few virtual coffees ago. After that, I’ll start working on the quilts which I hope to finish before the end of the year.

If we were having coffee, I’d grumble about my laptop. It has lines down the side of the screen and the bottom flickers. It’s about to crash, which means I’ll be hunting for a new one. I don’t feel like this laptop lasted long, although I suppose I used it more than my previous one.
I just finished reading a novel for a freelance review. Sorry, I can’t say more about that until it’s published. But if we were having coffee, I would share what I’m reading now. First, I’m making my way through a text for my “Efficient Business and Professional Writing” course. The text is called Writing with Power: Techniques for Mastering the Writing Process by Peter Elbow. The second book I’m reading is Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I’m not far enough into it to share an opinion yet. What are you reading?
By Shari Marshall – 2023

I’m reading two historical fiction novels right now (well, one I’m listening to; it’s the latest Kristen Hannah book called The Women about the Vietnam war) and another that’s supposedly the story of the real Moneypenny from James Bond. I just finished a 1000 piece puzzle yesterday and am taking a short break before I start another one. It’s been fun this month to put together puzzles while listening to an audiobook.

Those sound like interesting books, Joanne. Good work finishing your puzzle. I hadn’t thought about listening to an audiobook while puzzling, that’s a great idea.

That looks like a fun puzzle to do. I’m reading a mystery romance novel titled Fresh Water for Flowers by Valérie Perrin. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.

Oh, a mystery romance, that sounds like a good genre. Thanks for stopping in, Natalie.

I prefer my coffee with friends, but I’ll drink it any way I can get it. Your puzzle looks like a cross stitch, and it looks hard. My puzzles are mostly 200 pieces on my tiny laptop screen. I’m reading Dan Antion’s series because I got hooked on the first one. He is our author for Story Chat on Tuesday, and I thought I should read one, but it turned out to be a all nighter, then another, and now another. Have a great week.

Sounds like Dan’s books are an excellent find. I love it when that happens. I tried a few digital puzzles on my iPod when I was travelling and they can be a lot of fun.

I don’t have the room for larger puzzles in either of our condos and Vince doesn’t share that interest. So the digital ones work for me. I just started Dan’s fourth book. They are pretty fast and fun to read.

Yes, puzzles can take up a bit of space. I do my 2000-piece puzzles on our coffee table, but with the puppy it will be a will before I can do one of those.

I’m pleased to hear that you will be doing the AtoZ as I will be. I’ll look forward to your theme reveal and following along. It’s coming up very quickly.

I’m happy to hear you are participating in A-to-Z as well. And you’re right, it is coming up fast. Happy Saturday, Jennifer.

Thanks for the coffee, and sorry about your computer. I have a feeling that I too will be on the hunt for a new one before the end of this year. Mine has a tendency too overheat, and then the screen freezes in the middle of important PPT presentations.. (always during presentations!)

Oh no, sorry to hear about your laptop, Maria. Here is hoping we both get a bit longer out of them.

What a clever title!
Your progress is inspiring. I need to make progress on a few projects myself, but I’ve lost the motivation. I’m absorbing myself into one project (cross stitching), which is fun, but not productive in some ways where I need to be productive. Ah well. It’ll all get done eventually (or something). We move in 37 days, ready or not!
Computer shopping is a bear. I hate it. I did buy a Lenovo in November which I love.
I’m reading The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff right now. I’m only ~8 chapters in, but I love it so far!

I haven’t completed a cross stitch in years, but I used to love doing them. I found it relaxing and I felt a sense of accomplishment when the image was complete.
37 days until the move. That’s coming up. I hope it goes smoothly.
I was out shopping yesterday for a laptop. I just wanted to see what was available and what the prices were. I didn’t buy anything yet, but I say the Lenovo. I’m not familiar with that brand, but it’s helpful to hear that you like it.

I know, it’s hard for me to get them done, especially since I’ve gone crazy and decided to make my own pattern!
It is! Thank you!
I hope you find the best thing to suit you!

I am an ultra-introvert, so coffee with friends on occasion, maybe as much as a couple of times a week is great and I love it, but most days I do not want to acknowledge there are other people in the Universe until at least my second cup… The first cup has a tiny amount of sugar and the idea of half-and-half in it (a couple of drops). I make the next cup when I am 2/3 done, so there is still a little there, though it looks black. The next is black.
Computer problems suck and I hate moving to a new one! Good luck.
I hope your weekend is goign well and that you have a wonderful; week!

It’s so interesting how we all have our coffee routines.
Happy Saturday, Trent.

Oh my, diamond puzzles look like they would be difficult! The end result is very neat though! As for the “would you rather” questions, I’d rather drink coffee with friends as well, but I drink my coffee with a spoonful of sugar and some oat milk! (Creamer is way too sweet for me). I hope you can hunt down a nice new laptop, I know I’m in need of one as well, but all in all, things sound wonderful!

The diamond puzzles are time-consuming and tedious, but they are satisfying as well. I’ve never tried oat milk. I love almond milk and I don’t mind the vanilla soy milk either. Happy Sunday, Alexandra.

I will only drink oat milk in my coffee that I make at home! I tried it in tea and hated it, but it’s not too bad to just drink plain!

The A-Z sounds fun. I am in the middle of completing a country one about Portugal. I have been doing it for years

There are a few different challenges, which is nice. The communities in the challenges I’ve joined have always been welcoming. Good luck with your challenge and thanks for stopping in.

I helped Grandgirl work a puzzle over the weekend. It was only 100 pieces but kept her busy for a time. The diamond gnome picture looks amazing.

I enjoy it when one or both of my boys help with the puzzle I’m working on. It’s nice to have the company and the help. Thanks for stopping in, Karen. Hope you are having a nice week.
