Would you rather hear a poem about coffee or a song?
Would you rather make your coffee or have someone make it for you?

I would rather hear a song about coffee; something with a nice beat and catchy verses. I would rather make my coffee most of the time, but every once in a while, I wouldn’t mind someone in my house making my coffee and bringing it to me in bed with a book to read.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I have been wanting to start a new craft. I’d like to build a miniature library. However, I can’t in good conscience start a new craft when I have a few other half finished. So, for the next little while, I’m going to be cleaning up those crafts. I have two diamond paintings to complete and a rectangular box to stain, sand, seal, and add material to the interior. Those crafts I would like to finish before the summer holidays. In addition, I have two quilts to finish. I’m aiming for the end of the year for those.

If we were having coffee, I would share that Maddi goes in for surgery next week. She hurt her knee, which would be the equivalent of an ACL in humans. The poor creature has had a rough go lately between her ear and leg. It’s sad because she wants to play with the puppy but can’t because that kind of activity hurts. I will share how she’s doing when we have our next virtual coffee.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I wrote a post for Sammi Cox’s weekend writing prompt last weekend. The word was turmoil and the word count was fifty-three. It was a fun prompt. Here is my response: A state of disturbance.

Poor Maddi! Gosh, I know all about that though, my old dog had torn her ACL and she always had a limp. But she was still happy and playful!
As for the questions, I think I’d rather a poem about coffee. And I do like making my own, but as you said, occasionally it would be nice to have it made for me!
The endless projects 😂 I relate, but a miniature library sounds really neat!!

Hello Alexandra. Of all my dogs, Maddi is the first with knee trouble. I’m hoping the surgery is a success; she gets a bit mopey when she can’t play.
I made a couple of miniature dollhouses a few years ago. It’s a lot of work, but so fun. The problem I have with them is that they are so big that I can’t keep them around. So, I thought just one little room that’s a library would be fun. We shall see . . .
Thanks for stopping in.

Shari, I hope Maddie does well, too. Is this miniature library for a doll house, or are you building libraries to hold a few books that kids can check out? Our Kiwanis Division made miniature libraries for a while to put in public places so that kids could get books. They got donations to fill them with books the kids could take home.

Excellent question, Marsha. It’s a dollhouse thing, but just a one-room box. I love those miniature lending libraries, though. There is one on the street up from me and another around the corner from me. So, I’m not going to create one just yet.
Happy Saturday.

Happy Saturday to you, too, Shari. I can’t wait to see your dollhouse library. Do you create the furniture or buy it? A museum I went to in Delaware had a huge collection of doll houses. They were so cute with their turn of the century (and earlier) furniture.

I’ve purchased premade furniture as well as kits to make my own. It depends on what I’m looking for. The miniatures are so fascinating.

I feel so sorry for gorgeous Maddi. I have a knee injury myself so understand how she would be feeling. I hope all goes well with her treatment.

Hi Shari,
Yea – I’ve been out of touch with everyone for most of January. It was one distraction to the next there for a while.
So sorry to hear about Maddie. Glad you were there to care for her.
I hope you get a chance to read my story. While writing it, I thought that you might be proud of me for taking on the topic and spinning it up in a unique direction.

Glad you’re back, Gary.
Maddi’s surgery is next week. I’m not sure whether that is going to make me busier, or if I’m going to end up sitting in one spot to keep her settled. We shall see. I have read through your story but would like to read it again when things here are a bit quiet.
Happy Sunday.

Poor Maddi. Don’t you just wish you could say the words that she’d understand and know what’s going on and how you’re going to help her? Loving an animal is tougher sometimes than loving someone you can talk to and reason with.
Thanks so much for reading “Unexpected Fireworks”. Any of your time is valuable to me.
