Would you rather have iced coffee or a cup of hot coffee?
Would you rather have a crappy cup of coffee or no coffee at all?
If we were having coffee, I would rather have a hot cup of coffee. Even in the summer, I drink my Java hot. Rarely will I consume iced coffee. I enjoy it cold, but I love it hot. And I would rather have a crappy cup of coffee than no coffee at all. Yes, virtual friends—for those of you who haven’t figured it out yet—I am a coffee addict.
If we were having coffee, I would share that my word of the year is progress. I mistakenly told a couple of people it was success, but it’s progress. Progress and success are closely connected, as progress represents forward movement and success results from that progress. Success was my 2022 word. Do you do a word of the year or are you a New Year’s resolution person?

If we were having coffee, I would share that I signed up for the virtual Mini Inkers Con conference that ran last weekend. It was full of great material for writers. One of my takeaways was about Linktree. Have you heard of it? Do you use it? Here is my Linktree setup: Shari’s Linktree. I’m registered for the Women in Publishing Summit in a few months too. I can’t wait.
If we were having coffee, I would share that I am putting together a new puzzle. It’s called My Awesome Collect 1989. I will share a picture when I get it pieced together. I also bought a new puzzle called Books and Coffee or something similar.
Hope you all had a lovely week. What was one great thing that you can share about it?

Normally I love hot coffee in the morning with my protein drink. The other day I saved the leftover coffee in the fridge, and had it with my protein drink over ice – mmmmm. Delicious. But on normal days – hot as I can stand it. I’m not crazy about bad coffee. My husband has his special brand, and it is always good, so I’m spoiled. 🙂

I definitely would rather have hot coffee! I do like iced too, but I prefer hot. Even a crappy cup is better than no coffee!
I also really love the concept of having a word of the year! Progress, feels very fitting for me

Crappy and hot coffee seems to be popular answers so far.
Yes, well New Year’s resolutions aren’t my thing. The word of the year is so much easier to be successful with and I like how the word just, as you phrased it, feels fitting.

I don’t normally drink any hot drinks at all but this past week I’ve been drinking lots of hot cocoa and hot tea with honey trying to get this cold/core throat to go away. I did work on a cute little puzzle yesterday though (it was just 500 pieces so a quick afternoon activity) and I’m hoping to start a larger/harder one today.

Hot drinks with honey feel so welcoming to a scratchy throat. I hope you feel better soon, Joanne. Puzzling and relaxing sound like a great way to rest.

Hello! I am a New Years “Goals for the New Year” person, which is better than boring resolutions, and more flexible as well. See –> https://jeanneselep.blogspot.com/2023/12/2023-wind-up.html

I would choose a latte or black instant, not long black, over iced coffee. Though if it was so hot that I felt like iced coffee, it would have to be without cream. I think Progress is a perfect WOTY for you. I wasn’t going to choose one this year, but over the past few days I feel one calling to me. Not sure yet.

Happy Saturday, Jennifer. It’s interesting because I find my word of the year calls to me as well. It’s like it picks me and not the other way around.

Yes, I think I am with you…an not so great cup of coffee is better than none. My day, every day, has one very strong, small hot coffee! Here’s to toasting you from Australia and to choosing ‘progress’ for WOTY. I chose “choose”… Denyse #weekendcoffeesshare

I limit my coffee intake to two cups and then I switch to herbal tea.
Choose is a great word of the year, Denyse.

I don’t like iced coffee at all and will drink hot coffee even if it is 140F outside… I do drink iced tea, though mostly unsweetened tea at restaurants instead of soda. I have thought of doing a word of the year this year. “Progress” is a great word and I can see how it fits for you. When I do finalize a word, if I do, it will be something along the lines of “Fresh Start” or “Beginnings”.
I hope you have a wonderful week 🙂

Iced tea, I haven’t had that in a while.
Fresh Start or Beginnings makes sense, or even Chapters of Blank Page.
Happy Sunday, Trent.

Good morning. I use Linktr.ee for Instagram since IG doesn’t let you use workable links in posts. It’s helpful yet another step.

Hi Antoinette. Yes, I agree it is help but another step. One good thing about it is that it wasn’t complicated to set up.
Thanks for stopping in.

Hot coffee for sure! If there’s crappy coffee I most often opt for no coffee. Right now I should probably opt for no coffee anyways, since I am going to bed soon 🙂 I’m a little late this weekend, too much fun! I wish you a wonderful new week!

Coffee before bed is not a good idea. Thanks for stopping in, Maria. Hope you are having a great week.

I am more of a hot coffee type of person. It’s cold where I am.

I live in a tropical country (Sierra Leone, West Africa) where coffee is normally brewed hot and steaming. I guess the logic is that the sweat generated will cool you down. Occasionally though I do enjoy a homemade iced latte on a hot sunny afternoon just for variety’s sake. I try to alternate my daily morning cuppa between coffee and green tea.
