I love how this coffee title sounds, “Crave Coffee—Butter Toffee.” It makes a fun chant while you wait for that next steaming cup to brew. The brand is Crave, and the flavour is butter toffee. I’m not sure if I shared this Java virtually before. Although it sounds sweet, it isn’t. It has a pleasant coffee odour of burnt nuts and bitter brew. The sip is smooth and buttery. It’s a nice cup of coffee.
If we were having coffee, I would share about Maddi. She had a mass tumour removed from her ear. The surgery went well, but her stitches blew apart on the fourth day because her ear was so swollen. The vet clinic said it’s normal with this kind of tumour removal. I dropped her off, fasted, to have them look at the incision. They kept her at the clinic all day. I expected they had done a second surgery to close the wound. I was incorrect. They sent her home with an antibiotic and a cream that they instructed me to put directly in the open wound twice a day. By the next morning, the incision looked like a gooey eye (it was eye-shaped and an equivalent size) on the back of her ear. It was huge! The drainage coming from it was impossible to keep up with and her bandages were wet seconds after I changed them. She stopped drinking. I was feeling panic among other emotions. I called the clinic again, and they offered me more pain medication. My response included words like unacceptable and insufficient . . . Anyway, they finally agreed to stitch the wound back closed. So, poor Maddi had to fast for a third time and have another surgery. I am happy to share that she is on the mend and that her stitches held this time.

If we were having coffee, I would share a craft that I just finished. I love Christmas ornaments, so this year I made my own using mini books, my book covers, and a clear Christmas ball.

If we were having coffee, I would share that I purchased a new cookbook a few weeks ago. It’s salads in a jar. I’m enjoying the overnight oats. I also like this sweet one called “Coconut, Chia, and Berry Jar.”

How are you? Can I offer you a virtual coffee?

I’m so sorry Maddi had to go through all of that! I am so glad you had her go back in though. (as scary as that is for pups) I also really love the Christmas ornament! A little time capsule on your tree 🎄

Glad Maddi is on the mend! Poor thing. I think you know that I am very much a boxer person. For people reading over Shari’s shoulder, I’m talking dogs, not personal garments… lol. The custom Christmas bulbs are great. Of course a a good way to celebrate with your own books. Hope you enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful week ahead! And hope Maddi continues to heal and is back to her old self very soon 🙂

Thank you, Trent. She is doing much better. The stitches from round two held, and the incision is closing up. She even has a bit of her boxer bounce back.
Happy Saturday.

Poor Maddi. . .
And it’s not like you can explain to her what’s happening so heap some frustration on top of the pain of watching her in distress. Ugh.
About that coffee, I’m almost always willing to try anything that does not involve okra, and I’d be willing to try this coffee flavor – but it would frustrate me even before tasting it that “Butter Toffee” sets a certain expectation and it sounds like this brew doesn’t even try to satisfy it. They should have saved the fun name for something that was at least inspired by the taste of butter toffee.
Very cool ornament idea. I was looking at these in a local craft store just 2 days ago.
This week is the US Thanksgiving week and so we get 2 extra days off of work and (for us) a chance to see 2 of three of our kids and their significant ladies. We’re really looking forward to this of course but will be missing our doctor student who is too busy to make the cross-country trip.
Hope all is well with your family.
We’re finally getting some rain but I bet Alberta is a tad colder than California, so I hope you’re all also warm and cozy.
Blessings

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Gary.
Friday night I had to go pick my son up at 8 pm. It was plus 8 and raining! It’s not our typical weather for the middle of November, but it’s nice not to be freezing. I hope you have a great rest of the weekend.

Oh poor Maddi! She is such a trooper – glad to hear she is on the mend. It must have been such a trying time for you (it is no fun when either children or furfriends are unwell).
I love your Christmas ornament! What a lovely way to personalise it.
Because your overnight pudding looks so good, I checked out an online copy of Salad in a Jar – such fun!
