The presence of vanilla is noted

Donut Stop Boston cream coffee fills my cup this morning. Who doesn’t love donuts? Since it isn’t something that I eat very often, this coffee option is fun. The dominant smell is vanilla-ish and the sip is smooth and silky. The presence of vanilla is noted.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that school is out for summer. The boys and I road bikes to Subway on their first day off and got lunch. It was fun. I am happy to say that the bike didn’t aggravate my hip. So, there will be more summer bike rides in July.

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that reader reviews are coming in for The Ember Stone. If you are curious, here is the link to the Goodreads site. That leads me to my next bit of writing news. In September I am doing a cover/title reveal for my new book coming out in December. More on that in September.

If we were having coffee, I would share that the current course I’m taking toward my editing certificate ends July 5th and I’m going to pause until fall before taking another. The courses I’ve taken so far—intro to editing, grammar, proofreading, and freelancing—have all been great. I’m leaning toward the structural editing course next, but there are a few others that are warring for me to enroll in . . .

Here is the virtual coffee pot, friend. How was your week?

  1. It sounds like you love your editing classes. Are they online or face to face? That sounds like something very helpful and a good career for you also.

    1. Hi Marsha. The classes are online. Although in-person class would be great, the online offers the flexibility I need to take classes with all my other responsibilities. And yes, they are helpful and perhaps a career option I can transition into in a few years. Thanks for stopping in.

  2. If you’re out riding bikes the fires and smoke has to have cleared.
I don’t recall hearing that your hip was giving you grief. I hope this too clears up fast.
You’re a RCMP and can’t have hip issues slowing you down.
For now, it’s good to know you can start enjoying some summer.
    Blessings.

    1. The air quality has been decent. There are still fires, but we’ve had rain too. As for the hip, the doctor told me during the height of COVID that I need surgery on it. I’ve been delaying it and doing physio. The physio routine has helped so for now I’m holding off on the surgery.

Thanks for stopping in, Gary. I hope your weekend is going well.

      1. Well shoot.
Sorry to hear that surgery is indicated but it sounds like you have a good plan to deal with it and can enjoy life until taking the plunge.
We have our first high heat days here.
I broke out the fans and am sucking in the cool air before the temps climb to triple digits 😎
But our oldest and our DIL are here (which we love) until later this afternoon when we take them to the airport to fly home after having them for 3 weeks.
It’s been a wonderful time having them.
