I have a Van Houtte Irish Cream and an Our Finest Irish Medley on my Keurig spinner. I decided to compare them this morning because I was curious to see what was similar and what was different. The Irish Medley’s bouquet is strong, filling the kitchen with the welcome notes of roasted coffee beans. My nose detects a chocolatey underlay which makes me wonder if it is actually vanilla. It tastes smooth with a bitter fade out. It’s a simple sip with a deep brown colour that is almost black. The Irish Cream has the same dark rich visual in my mug. The smell that I questioned earlier as vanilla is clearly vanilla. The flavour palates are the same.
Both coffees lacked sugar, whip cream, and Irish whisky. Typically, I like Spanish coffees but those three ingredients sound tasty.
If we were having coffee, I would share some images of the China cabinet of my mother’s that I’m restoring. I mentioned it a couple virtual coffees ago and I forgot to share the images last week. So, this is the cabinet before the work started.

I’m almost done working on the bottom half. I think the top will be slow going because of the glass. But I’m excited to see the finished product and get it set up in my office.
If we were having coffee, I would share a link for a free download of the first chapter on the revised edition of The Ember Stone. It is also available for pre-order in ebook format on Amazon. Chimera and Curses has some lovely reviews associated with it on Amazon and Goodreads.

If we were having coffee, I would share that my oldest son turns thirteen in a few days. Thirteen! I’m going to have a teenager in my house. Where does the time go? Anyway, we’re going to start preparing for birthday celebrations on Sunday.
If we were having coffee, I would share the link to my 99-word response to the Carrot Ranch Literary Community prompt: Kaleidoscope.
Here is the virtual coffee pot my friend. How was your week?

Weekend Coffee Share is hosted by Natalie the Explorer. I hope you have a chance to join us for a virtual cup. Coffee share #17 in 2023.

It’s been a crazy month for me. End-of-semester things, dealing with health insurance and other headache-producing organizations, and then the atoz getting in the way. Darn me for taking it on!! lol.
Congrats on the upcoming birthday. Happy Birthday to him.
Now the fun years start.

I hope things settle into a better pace for you in May. A-to-Z will be behind us, so that should help.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I’m not ready for a teenager, and in Alberta, he can get his learns at 14 so the next few years are going to be a big adjustment for me.
