Book one in the Scarpetta Series is called Postmortem. I’m planning to give it a read after having read and enjoyed Unnatural Exposure. I would like to see where Dr. Scarpetta’s character starts. I picked up Unnatural Exposure initially because I was looking to read a title that started with letter U for the purposes of April’s A-to-Z blogging challenge. Letter U was a hard letter to find a title for. So, I reached out to my Weekend Coffee Share group and got a lovely list of titles. Thanks Weekend Coffee Share!

The following review was originally posted on Goodreads: February 23, 2023.

This was my introduction to Dr. Scarpetta. I enjoyed her character. She’s smart, determined, and fearless. Another first for me with this novel was reading medically propelled. I really liked following a main character that is a Chief Medical Examiner. The storyline was great, perhaps extra electric to read in the world’s COVID climate, but a good read. A NEW York Times review referred to Unnatural Exposure as “Stark and gripping . . .” and I would agree. A mystery thriller novel that I couldn’t put down. I’m going to read book 1 in the series, perhaps where I should have started, but I enjoyed Unnatural Exposure just the same.
