A Cookie Jar Coffee

The bouquet of my morning java is soft and sweet making me anticipate a weak sip. This coffee is not weak though, it’s a lovely degree of bitterness. It travel across the tongue smoothly and it’s the after taste that is weak, but still welcome. I would enjoy this cup of coffee again, but I wouldn’t match it to its name flavour of Iced Oatmeal Cookie.

If we were having coffee, that this has been a challenging week and I’m looking forward to Friday night movie night and the rest of the weekend. I plan to have a hot cinnamon tea with a few chocolate covered raisons as my movie snack. I’m not 100% sure what we are watching yet though, perhaps “Trolls.”

If we were having coffee, I would share with you that A-to-Z is winding down. Today is the letter R and there are eight letters of the alphabet left after that. My book review for letter R is on “Red Rope of Fate.”

If we were having coffee, I would share some writing news. I have ordered my author copy of the revised edition of The Ember Stone. I have an anticipated release date of June 8, 2023. Chimera and Curses has some nice reader reviews associated with it you can check those out on Goodreads or Amazon. I read a review on Thursday morning and it was like a warm hug, and with the way this week has been going I really needed that hug.

Did I mention that it snowed on April 20th? How was your week?

  1. Snow? Wow. This was a piss-poor winter with very little snow in my area. I love snow/rain.
    R already???
Sigh. I’m writing it right now. Eight more to go, and I am still not 100% sure of the ending of Vincent’s Descent.
Wish we were having coffee together (with Melanie Atherton) and we could all discuss what we are writing.

    1. Yes, I’m in Northern Alberta and one year it snowed in June. It didn’t stay, but still snow in June!! Come on! I’m ready for spring weather.

A-to-Z is speeding by. I’ve found the visitor traffic has slowed down and my time to visit other’s is getting tighter as well . . . And yes, A-to-Z coffee writing chats over coffee would be very helpful.

      1. My readership is down to maybe two or three people now. None of the hosts have stopped by even once this time around, even though I did stop by theirs in the beginning. I’m guessing this whole atoz has run its course.
When I first did this back in 2011, I remember over 1,000 bloggers. Now its way less than 300, and not that many fiction writers.

        1. Yes, the flow and pace have definitely shifted. My first year participating also had way more traffic, and the hosts stopped in. The traffic and fun it created is the main reason I returned the following year. Sadly, I’m question whether I need to find a new challenge to start participating in . . .

          1. If you do, let me know. I’d continue to support you.

While I’m enjoying what I’m writing (I needed to write this year), this could be my last AtoZ.

  2. Oh, yes, it has been snowing regularly here where I live, can’t believe it, we get crazy weather all the time but… I can’t even plant my garden!
I haven’t had my morning coffee yet as I’m getting in my morning baby snuggles first.
I very sincerely hope you have a wonderful weekend, and that things get better for you! Thank you for continuing to share your well written words with us.

  3. I also had a challenge week, but at least it didn’t snow!! Yuck! The weather gods must have been smoking pot (4/20 and pot – if you don’t know, look it up 😉 ). I hope you enjoyed movie night and are having a wonderful weekend 🙂 (with no snow…)

  4. Well April and the AtoZ challenge are both zipping by so quickly. I can’t believe that it’s almost May already. Glad all’s going well with the book and that you enjoyed the review.

  5. We got a couple nights of cold frosty weather, not snow. Had to replant the tomatoes & pepper plants. Chocolate covered raisins sound yummy. I like the bridge mix that has the chocolate covered everything. #Weekendcoffeeshare

    1. You know what Karen, we had a mix of hail and snow again yesterday (Tuesday)! I use to garden but with this weather I often lost stuff.

Oh, that bridge mix is tasty. I might have to find it for Friday night movie night! Thank you for reminding me of it.
