Janet’s style, that witty, humourous, and mischievous style, is one place I drew (continue to draw) inspiration from when writing The Ember Files. Before I started writing The Ember Stone, one of my research points was Janet’s book How I Write: Secrets of a Bestselling Author. I found some great tips there to help me through my first novel writing project.

And then there’s me and Grandma with Superhero Derangement Syndrome.”
– Stephanie Plum
If I was to pick a word to describe “Fortune and Glory: Tantalizing Twenty-seven” I would use the word explosive. This light humourous read starts directly in the action and is packed with entertainment and adventure from start to finish. There is fighting, treasure, kidnapping, sex, mystery, humour and more.
Janet Evanovich gives us our beloved cast of regular characters. Each one does what they do best. In addition, there are a couple of new characters introduced. One of my favourite things about The Stephanie Plum Series is the quirky characters. George Potts, new on scene in #27, fits nicely into the storyline and his character flaws bring him to life in an amusing, yet endearing, way. The mysterious figure of Gabriela Rose is introduced in wonderful little snippets of character development. Just enough information is given or suggested about her character to draw the reader in and leave the reader craving more. All that is done without drawing attention away from Stephanie.
This novel is a delightful addition to The Stephanie Plum novels.

I’ve enjoyed the Stephanie Plum books. Need to play catch-up with the series.
Thanks for writing about How I Write: Secrets of a Bestselling Author. Another one for the pile.

I was working in Cole’s bookstore a number of years ago and my manager was this bizarre little lady who tried to get me to read the Stephanie Plum series every shift. I finally broke down and bought “One for the Money” for a vacation. I started reading it on the plane and was laughing out loud so hard people were turning to look at me. I enjoyed the series.
Thanks for stopping in, Stu.
