Coffee Blog

It would be just peachy if we were having coffee.

As the title suggests, it would be just peachy if we were having coffee or, in this case, tea, peach tea.

I love the look of today’s loose leaf. It has chunks of fruit and bits of leaves. The chunks are both a light tan and a soft orange. These are apple and peach pieces. The teeny-tiny flakes of leaves are a sage green blackberry leaf. The mixture has a sweet fruity scent that speaks directly to the tastebuds. This tea, once steeped, has a see-through marigold colour. The first sip reveals a taste that is not sweet or bright in flavour. It’s a subtle peach flavour could be enhanced with honey. I’m drinking it black though. Regardless, it’s a warm and comforting drink.

If we were having coffee tea, I would ask you if you can help me with a blogging question. It used to be when I visited your posts and left a comment, I would get an email when you posted a response. For some reason, I am not getting those emails any more. I don’t remember changing anything in my settings. Do any of you know what might be going on or how I can fix it?

If we were having coffee tea, I would share with you I am doing a beta read for an author in a Fantasy Writer’s group that I joined. I really am enjoying reading, editing, and reviewing manuscripts and novels. I guess that is another wonderful discovery that came out of writing my novel. What are you reading or writing?

If we were having coffee tea, I would share that I tested positive for COVID back on March 30, 2022, and I am still struggling with symptoms. They seem to come and go like waves, but the tiredness lingers always. It makes me wonder how sick I would have been without being triple vaccinated. Anyway, I decided I need to book a doctor’s appointment so I will see him next week to see what he has to say. I am thankful that I didn’t transmit it to anybody in my house. My one boy is high risk and I worry about him getting sick. I don’t know if I could forgive myself if I was the one who infected him.

If we were having coffee tea, I would yawn and reach for the coffee and tea pot so I can refill both our cups.

  1. We don’t drink hot tea, just iced, but your does sound good. I’ve had some kind of chai before and it was good.
My email notices are messed up, too. I’ve seen others complaining about WP and emails. On some blogs I follow, I can’t now get to their blog at all, it just sends me back to my own. Wish they’d not try to ‘improve’ things as it makes it worse in my opinion.
Hope you feel better soon. I’m almost positive I had covid early in 2020. I was in the hospital over a week on oxygen and strong meds, and even after at home. This was just days before they started mentioning covid 19, so wasn’t tested for it at the time.

    1. This peach tea is actually very good iced. In the summer, I use tea steeper that is also a juice jug, make the tea, throw in some honey, and chill it. Even the kids like it.

Thank you for sharing the WP stuff with me. I was worried that there was a problem with my computer or my account.

Sure sounds like you might have had COVID. Glad you are feeling better and it is behind you now. Thanks for stopping in.

  2. I had not heard of this latest issue with blog email alerts. But from your other friend above it may not be you or your site at fault. I would gather and document some evidence such as date(s) it started , which followed sites were impacted or not. Is it all WP email or just certain types that you look for?
This will be helpful if you end up contacting WP support.

    1. No just the wordpress emails. So, I was in and commented on your Coffee Post the other day Gary. I use to get an email if you liked my comment or responded to it so I could go back and respond to your response. I’m not getting those anymore and I really liked them… We shall see what happens I guess.

  3. That tea sounds delicious. Bad luck about Covid. Hope you get over it soon. We’ve just had our 4th vaccine and keep thinking we have got it but have escaped so far. As for WP I’m just struggling and am no expert. I get some followed blogs on Reader but not all I don’t think. It is all so time consuming and I have to finish a book for Book Club on Tuesday, ‘The Promise’. I’m not very far in but I like the writing style. I will set aside time after lunch to read because we have just come back from three days babysitting and I have unpacking, washing etc to do. Cheers.

    1. I need to check and see when my husband and I qualify for our 4th.

I haven’t read “The Promise.” A book club would be a fun place to share reading passions. I hope you get the time you need to finish reading by Tuesday. Thanks for stopping in Linda.

  4. Shari, When you leave a comment on a blog, there is a small checkbox for WP to notify you of new comments via email. You can check the box and see if it resets the settings and resumes sending you email notifications. I hope your COVID symptoms go away soon. Thank you for your weekend coffee/ tea share.

    1. Yes, but I never had to do that before. And when you check that box you get notified of ALL comments. What I had happening before was that I would only be notified if you responded to MY comment on your post. So, I am not sure what happened.

  5. When I leave a comment here, there is a check box “Notify me of new comments via email”. Maybe that’s it? Or that show any comment? I don’t like the blogs to send me any emails! I have turned off every email setting I can find and my email set up just for blog emails still gets 50 a day (I was once at about 500 a day!).
I haven’t done beta reading in ages. Sounds fun. And it is fair play that if you ask others to beta read, you beta read yourself.
Sorry you are still not 100%. Hope the doctor’s visit helps!
    Have a great week!

    1. I am not a big fan of getting a lot of emails either. When you check that box you get notified of ALL comments, which I do not want. So, don’t and never have checked that box. What I had happening before was that I would only be notified if you responded to MY comment on your post. I must have managed to turn something off in my settings and I can’t figure out what. So, I apologize if I am not returning to respond to any response you leave on comments when I visit your site.

      1. I don’t think I ever received emails for replies to comments on other’s blogs, I always rely on WP’s notification when I open the site (which is how I am answering you right now). Unfortunately, I do often miss comments!

  6. I hope you get your energy back sooner than later.
I can see that Trent already mentioned the bok to check “Notify me of new comments via email.” For a while I had everything sent to my email, but now I only choose to get notifications here on WP, I have the app on my phone.
I hope your weekend is revitalising, thank you for the tea.

  7. Hmmm…sorry you’re having trouble with receiving notifications! Seems like everyone above had some solid ideas, hopefully it all clicks into place quickly. Bummer on the COVID infection! I sure hope you get your energy back soon and are feeling wonderfully again. I’m glad the vaccines protected you as they are intended to. I am currently reading book 8 of the Outlander series and writing a bit of of our family history 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying a lovely, restful week!

    1. Oh Melis, “Outlander” is one of my favourites. I have read the series twice, but I haven’t read “Go tell the bees I’m gone” yet. Hope you are enjoying the read. Writing family history would be so interesting and I think it would feel rewarding.
Thanks for stopping in. I hope you have a great rest of your week as well.
